The Blackout Modifier is necessary, and not cruel. Here's why: As Light level increases, the difficulty of the Strike playlist decreases. In the long term, Blackout challenges even the most experienced players, a tool to keep this activity replayable. Blackout also tests a player's awareness and escape maneuverability, something useful to practice in. In my opinion, there should be a difficulty option in general for the game. I'm hardcore and hate casual play, unless I'm super tired. I think a true Prestige system should be implemented into the game so that hardcore peeps like me can grind through the game in a more preferable way. I think there should definitely be exclusive rewards for it too, but more commemorative type of stuff like emblems, ships, sparrows, shaders, emotes and Ghost shells. I wanna be able to show off my progress and get Milestone rewards along the way. Let there be a category for Sherpa requirements too.

  • Yeah, nope. The current modifiers are actually lazy game design, making the game "harder" without actually giving players a viable counter other than "don't get hit by/while doing X" . None of that is "hard", just tedious. Rewards and difficultly should be tied to challenges, as in ACTUAL challenges. No deaths, only x weapons, no supers, must hit a precision shot to kill... In D1 strike scoring was an excellent challenge along with the challenge modifiers. Being able to be 1 shot by a thrall does nothing but make shit take longer. One random spawn(as they pop out of the ground) and well there ya go. It's as if the concept of actually challenging the player was tossed out the window in this game. Black Spindle Quest D1, challenge. Arms Dealer, get run down by dogs, not so much.
