Seriously? Early 2018. Like many have already said, if this had any positive effect that you didn’t intend for players, you would’ve had it fixed yesterday. I held out hope for you guys through all of this shit. Self inflicted shit at that. You guys shoot yourself in the foot at every turn you take due to one simple misconception. You all apparently think that your customers are brain dead morons who are incapable of doing simple math or even noticing that it’s pretty impossible to get an exotic at this point. Not that it really matters seeing as how the exotics are of no consequence anymore. You’re just wrapped up in shitty business practices and how you can ‘’monetize the game and progression system in the long term”. This is the -blam!-ing opposite of player retention. No one wants anything to do with this game anymore because you can’t figure out what bullshit story you’re going to feed to the player base on any given day. I don’t think you guys have any clue what’s happening outside of ‘eververse, bright engrams, MONEYYYY’. That’s all the folks at bungie care about. You hemorrhage more players every day because you don’t care about the consumer anymore. I tried Curse of Osiris as one final chance for you guys out of respect to you as the team who brought me D1 Y3. And that campaign fit for a 5 year old put a terrible taste in my mouth. This is why I stopped playing and supporting your game and I genuinely hope many more do the same. This behavior does not deserve a player base. Hell you guys don’t deserve to call yourselves bungie anymore. At least put ‘a division of activision’ on the end so people know how you’re going to treat them. I hope you ride the eververse all the way to the ground. Goodbye.
All you guys replying to this defending bungie make me laugh. I’m not going to dignify that with a response to any of you personally, but I will say that trying to invalidate someone’s argument and putting words in their mouth is pathetic at this point. On top of that, it’s not an argument. It’s all fact. You guys are why we have this gaping shit hole of a game so by all means, keep trying to push my buttons and defending bungie. 1: you haven't even used three of coins, so your argument is already invalid 2: it may be a bug, but can you point me to where they said heroic strikes will have a higher drop rate? I'm reading this as the base rate of exotics for heroic and notmal strikes are the same, and you just assumed heroics would offer faster exotics.

The development team takes the end if December off. That's why nothing else in regards to hot fixes will be coming until early 2018/January. I guess it's too much to let people have time off and spend it with their families because someone feels entitled.

i'm all for them having time with families, etc. a whole month is pushing the boundaries a little, but whatever. but under no circumstances can you convince me that if this was switched around and exotics were dropping too fast or much.... that bungie would not have a team working on it immediately. but because the current Exotic engram situation screws us over - they will look into it in early 2018.

They have a month off. Who in the real world has a month off unless they use a full year's holiday entitlement or they have no job? Who else in this world shuts the office for an entire month? Even the most laid back companies I've ever worked for don't afford the entire staff a full month. Most companies who provide a service, an online only multiplayer game in this instance, which relies upon technology that requires regular monitoring, have a staff rotation to cover any holiday period. Yet with most companies, their holiday periods for Xmas are a few days if staff are lucky. I ain't buying your Hallmark sympathy card. A freakin' month off is a joke. A week is a privilege. A month is taking liberties. "But it's Xmas and people need time with their families, blah blah" Stop. No. If paid/paying customers are using your service, you don't pack the office away for a month at any time of the damn year unless they're all dead. You provide a competent staff to be flexible and cover the bulk of the workload, not let it all pile up like a festering backlog at a sewage treatment facility.

That and like most businesses who provide a service (ISPs, phone companies etc) they go into a 'change freeze' or 'service protection' period where only mission critical stuff would be fixed. Anything else can wait until the window for change opens again.

I completely agree that during this holiday period that the employees take time off, we are all human, not robots that work 24/7. The issue is that it feels like theres a lack of testing that occurs with certain features or weapons (e.g. Lens) before they release it with their response always being ‘not working as intended’. Maybe if they communicated the reasoning why it takes the amount of time that it is taking to address a certain issue (i.e. coding to balance the lens is more complicated then you’d think) it’ll give us some clarity and insight.

You said it all. I wish I could congratulate you. I refused to play D1 and decided to give D2 a try to see if they improved at all. AND HOLY HELL, WHY?! WHY? BUNGIE!? This can't be you. Everything you've written is exactly how I've been feeling with the game as of late. I'm only active on D2 now to prove to my clan that I am an active leader. I'm now on the verge of quitting and leaving simply because playing is now a chore rather than for pure enjoyment. Since I've paid for the season pass, I will be making my final decision based on the last expansion and how that turns out - if it is yet another disappointment, I will see myself out the door with visions that this game has lost all hope at redemption.
