Hey all,
Throughout the weekend, we’ve been monitoring player feedback concerning the recently added Three of Coins consumable offered by Xûr. We’d like to give clarification on the functionality of this item:
When players use a Three of Coins consumable, this provides a 50% increase to the base chance of being rewarded an Exotic Engram upon activity completion. Using this consumable does not guarantee an Exotic reward upon completing a set number of activities – but rather increased chances upon each activity completion.
Note: We have found that Heroic Strikes do not currently grant higher chances for Exotics when using Three of Coins consumables, compared to Vanguard Strikes. We’re looking to address this with a future Hotfix, expected in early 2018.
We will continue to monitor and forward feedback concerning this feature throughout the holiday season. Keep it coming!
Later this week, we’ll have notes from the development team on additional feedback items that we’re looking to address in the future. Stay tuned.
Cheers,
-dmg04

Editado por Familiar Fate: 12/18/2017 8:14:17 PMGlad you guys are looking into it. Wah wah wah, I played for an hour and didnt get an exotic. Like what do you guys want? An exotic every chest so you have them all then whine about having them all and not having anything to chase? Yah, 12 hours and none is excessive but really if 4 hours is "one sitting" of gaming, you really should only see 1 exotic in this time. Because they are special and exotic... And if you give more than they are not.
-
I spent all my shards on 3OC hoping to get my 10th DARCI. I am so distraught I am calling for a permo ban on Bungo and Activision.
-
Thank you for the feedback. But i am still astonished that Bungie and its employees, which work hard and mostly want to release a great game for us to play, are unable to find these issues with items such as 3oC prior to releasing said items into the game environment. I spent 4 3oC over the weekend, across both PS4 and PC platforms, as i was going heroic strikes for the Prophecy Verse Weapons to only get 2 exotics in that time (in comparison, im sure if i spent 16 hours doing Heroic Events alone, i would have gotten at least 5-6 exotics in that time frame). I guess this will fall on death ears, but any chance of Bungie giving me back my 4 3oC that i used to no avail? (yea, i know the answer, ill die first before that happens).
-
Hiya.... I reeeeeeeaaallly like The Colony🤗 My2cents
no bologinnnna... it's guud😋
-
I haven’t had any issues with 3oC. Got an exotic every time I’ve popped one. Even got one during a heroic strike yesterday.
-
The original 3oC worked VERY differently. You popped one and then fought a yellow bar major enemy. If an exotic did not drop, then your chances increased the next time you popped another 3oC, and so on and so on until an exotic drop was virtually guaranteed, one dropped, then your chances dropped back to normal. With this booster you should have the chance to get more exotics than we used to have drop in the same amount of time farming. If you nerfed the chances of exotics dropping so far that the new 3oC booster is less effective than what we did before, it is not worth the shards required to buy it. Make it worthwhile or get rid of it DMG04.

PSA: WHAT THIS ACTUALLY MEANS So Bungie are finally coming out with some communication on things, but as usual they’re being “too cryptic” for the vast majority on this forum to understand, and also withholding vital information, which is what is the base drop chance for each activity. Now, let’s assume the drop rate for an exotic in any given activity is 5%. If you activate a 3oC, it bumps that up by 50%. 5x1.5=7.5 With 3oC you now have 7.5% chance to get a drop. Not 55% Are we clear?
-
Hahahahaha coding a patch doesn’t take months. You guys are so bad.
-
Spend your extra shards if you have them on the engrams from Rahool to get masterwork cores for your weapons. I spent about 1000 shards and got enough cores to convert my 335 Nameless and found Uriel’s MW to boot. Just wait for 3OC to be fixed.
-
So generic bungie working as intended response. Cool story bro
-
50%?? more like 0.5%

Editado por spankingCane: 12/18/2017 8:44:17 PMAre the new exotics available in the normal strikes.
-
Thanks for Saying Something
-
I never bought any and don't intend on it unless that's the only way to get random exotics. I believe this was introduced to eat up the shards we have been stockpiling. Theory only but sound. Let's say your chance at exotic is 5 in 100. Adding base chance of %50. isn't that 7.5 in 100? Not much change. Numbers can be deceiving.
-
50%? that really doesn't seem right to me. whenever I've had it active, I never get anything, yet when I do have it off, I end up getting an exotic. Granted some of the activities I've done were heroic strikes but I've done a lot of public events while it was on too.....man why did I waste most of my shards on this >>''

Editado por Ridin' Solo: 12/18/2017 11:52:12 PMOh boy! Can this Zeppelin ride we're on just -blam!-ing burn already!!
-
Editado por LucentDust: 12/19/2017 2:01:33 AMSomething still seems off, but I do appreciate that at least a response was made. I was sitting there for awhile thinking "huh... The forums are flooded with talk of broken 3oc, why no word from Bungie?" So... Thanks for saying something. I do however agree with the sentiments other players have about disclosing percentages and what not - we're able to find them in Diablo and games of the like, why not Destiny? It would certainly help in the conversation of what is and isn't working, having this information readily available... Otherwise you'll have the community making their minds up about mechanics purely on playing experience, and no way of trusting what you say means anything (especially after the XP throttle...).
-
Well that'd explain not having any drop, since all I did was play Heroic Strikes and the Raid. If only it was a global buff to the Exotic drop rate.... Because my basic understanding of probability and statistics makes me believe that this is not work the shards, because your likelihood of making back your investment is probably not high.
-
There a difference between 50% and 0.04%.
-
So, let's say we have a 10% base chance, the coin gives us a 15% chance to get an exotic. But then you say increased chances upon each activity completion. Does that mean it goes up another 5% for each activity completed?
-
50% of 0.04% is still not 1%.
-
Btw I grindas PE's daily. I get at least one exotic per hr with no type of medallion or coin used. Ive used 3oC 5 times now for the full 4 hrs doing these events and have zero exotics. ZERO. I kno youll throw some bs numbers out there but thats all it is. BS. Thanks a million bungo. Merry xmas
-
how is a patch that's possibly 3 months away ("early 2018" could mean anytime in the first quarter) considered a hotfix? If they just aren't working in Heroic Strikes why are you waiting so long to patch this? I love this game; but WTF?? I absolutely believe you guys DO NOT test your game at all, otherwise there would not be sooo many useless exotics, and weapons and armor and consumable would work when they get released. Instead we get travesty after travesty.
-
Thanks for the update, I guess. Though it doesn't feel as if it is working as intended from most of the players points of view. Especially since people have tested no drops while the coin is active, but drops when it isn't. Hopefully it's just pot luck and I mainly only run the Heroic Strikes now, compared to the normal ones, so a little said to hear it won't be functional there until 2018.
-
I don't get why all the numbers is hidden, people a confused about what the wording of the item means and therefor makes their own assumptions, why just don't wirte "tree of coin - Increase the chance to get exotic drop upon activity completion (50% increase)"
