I've posted something similar about shaders for supers. A black bubble would be so awesome and OP

I don't think so. Black on the outside... but if it isn't see through then you shouldn't be able to see while inside either. I'm thinking like a globe of darkness from DnD... Good if you're a blind fighter but not so good if you aren't. Being beings of light... doesn't make much sense for you to create darkness though.
