I'm just going to end this conversation now.
Arcstrider is an assassin speed Kilik from Soul Calibur. Mean with a staff and is quick to punish anyone who does not take giant waves of room away from him.
You are not using a dagger to speed through the air. You are the air. Quick to hit the upper torso or the lower with that lightning staff BECAUSE you are energized to move that fast and deal a massive amount of dps against the enemies unfortunate enough to be lined up against you.
To put it bluntly: You are the master staff in the wild. Which means absolutely nothing is safe from you.

Kilik is styled after a monk. Few other fighters other than monks used staves. Polearms were used by others, but not staves. Hunters are outlaws, not monks. Very different.

Polearms is a staff by the way. It's a classification type. Depends on striking, bludgeoning, ect. descriptive or if it is pike as an example. [quote]Hunters are outlaws, not monks. "Staves," I was told, is a plural of "staff." So either I'm using the wrong word or I'm right. I'm probably using the wrong word. Hunters are also known for not following the rules, and they're based on things like the wild west cowboy, wild survivalist, and big game hunter. They're supposed to be like Han Solo or Boba Fett in Star Wars, or Malcolm Reynolds in Firefly. They even drive home the point by having Nathan Fillion voice Cayde-6. Hunters also make weapons out of their Light or charge up an existing weapon with it like Arc Blade, which others might make fun of but admit its practicality. Lord Shaxx does it in the Crucible Gunslinger quest in the original Destiny. On top of that, Hunters were the last kind of Guardian to join the Guardian ranks. Some were treasure hunters, others were explorers, and some were actual outlaws. Even though they may not be strictly outlaws now, there's no denying it's a part of the Hunter art direction. And even then, leaked Destiny 2 concept art showed Hunters with Dawnblade and Warlocks with the staff. While Dawnblade may not fit Hunters either at least it's an actual sword that can cut because of easier edge alignment instead of the tiny hedge trimmer blades on the Arc Staff. Staffs (is that the real plural?) and spears aren't used to slash, because that's difficult with the blade on the end of a stick. Not unheard of, but difficult. And polearms like halberds do not count as staffs, they're classified as pole arms because of their usefulness in full on medieval warfare. Staffs could be anti-armor, but in that case it's better to go with a mace, war pick, or good old murder stroke. Plus, without a sword, how am I supposed to "end them rightly?" [spoiler]That last sentence was a joke. :)[/spoiler]
