I just figured that Destiny 2 will have matchmaking for raids. I feel like such a idiot now.

Just to be clear, it's not going to be matchmaking like D1 strikes in which a team is randomly put together. That would be a disaster for lengthy raids. Instead, the matchmaking will really be a kind of in-game lobby/lfg app. People looking to fill out a team for a raid are still going to expect things like mics, knowledge, proper gear, etc.
