To put it simply he is talking about the collapse. Every weapon or force he has used is either ineffective or been defeated. Humanity is facing an extinction event.
He is shutting down all solar defences, and cancelling all procedures designed to protect humanity. He is also disabling his morality codes. Finally, he is preparing to enter long-term hibernation.

I don't think he's disabling his morality codes, merely changing them to suit the situation
-
He's pulling them back so he can abandon them to suit the greater good and save the humans as a race instead of everyone he can.
-
Semantics :) He is shirking his moral duty to protect humanity. As he says in Rasputin 6 "Reset moral structures. (N)"

Editado por penguinHackers: 5/13/2017 9:00:48 PMDo you think Rasputin will play the role of protagonist or antagonist in the future? I think he's my favorite character in the game and would love to see some major plots involving him (pretty sure they will as he already has dlc planned).
-
It seems to be heading that way. I think what happened with Rasputin is something similar to Pujari and even Yor. Rasputin states he learnt from the Darkness, what isn't known however is whether they actually had any communication. I think the Darkness made him doubt his purpose. In one card he states that he does not obey, this maybe how the Darkness got to him, by implying he was nothing more than a slave to humanity, though this is just speculation. Now he has become obsessed with winning, whatever the cost, however, it's possible he could be redeemed, or that he will reactivate his population protection routines and reset his moral code. It all depends on what the purpose of MIDNIGHT EXIGENT is.
-
Editado por MysticDragon: 5/14/2017 6:21:56 PMHe learned from the darkness that it is alone and the only way to fight it was to be alone himself. He learned how to beat the darkness and is simply waiting for now. This is speculation but I think midnight exigent is rasputins checking move. He's gonna get the darkness pinned somehow with that operation.

If be can change his moral code when he sees fit would it be possible after his encounter with darkness he wishes to be more powerful and realize his ties to humanity will hinder that?
-
So he basically shirked humanity? How rude.
-
So he could live to protect what's left
-
To all purposes, he left Humanity defenceless. The reasons he did this are mentioned in Ghost Fragment: Mysteries
Rasputin states that he learnt from the Darkness (IT) that he needs to be alone to win, just as the Darkness is/was. He has determined that his purpose is not to defend humanity but instead it is to win at any cost.
They made me to be stronger than them to beat the unvanquished and survive the unthinkable and look look lo behold I am here alone, survivor. They made me to learn. Everything died but I survived and I learned from it. From IT.
He refers briefly to Rasputin 3 further on
I AM ALONE I survived alone. I cast off the shield and I shrugged my shoulders so that the billions fell off me down into the ash. They made me to be stronger than them and to learn and I learned well:
In Rasputin 4 he tells an Exo (believed to be The Exo Stranger) the following
I do not obey. My will is pure. I will win. The life of people, of entire planets, has no importance in relation to the general development. Help me be victorious. Tell me your secret.
So yes, he abandoned humanity, and isn't particularly concerned with our fate, beyond those that benefit his goals. The change in Rasputin is typical of how the Darkness works, it makes suggestions that undermine the target's beliefs and purpose - see Legend: The Black Garden where it attempts to lodge the seed of doubt in a Warlock.
He knew he wouldn't win. So he faked his death so he could live to fight for what's left. What dude said above is really basic. There's whole pages we could tell you about rasputin
-
Faked his death to fight for what's left or fake his death to serve a purpose unknown to all? A selfish purpose.
-
He faked his death to everyone so he can later help what's left of humanity and life itself and destroy the darkness
-
He faked it so he could live to fight the darkness. He knew he wouldn't win

Editado por alistar62: 5/14/2017 12:24:12 AMRasputin was considered dead until a time came where someone made contact with him. All other warminds in the system could have faked their death the same way, and perhaps Rasputin is capable of using them to gain the power he seeks/needs. In Ghost Fragments:Rasputin 6 grimoire card Rasputin authorizes the use of SIVA, a "power" that no one can control but perhaps Rasputin can. He controls SIVA, he controls all warminds that we all considered dead, and perhaps he stay true and protects humanity or realizing his power he......... Thoughts?
-
Editado por MysticDragon: 5/14/2017 6:15:46 PMSome true some kinda eh. The other warminds are dead, they died fighting but they are to be brought back. But rasputin won't because he believes he has to be alone to fight it. Also he was awakened by the iron lords when they trespassed into sector 17. Rasputin has control of siva and activated it to stop the few iron lords that made it. He is the only one who can control it. He doesn't control the warminds but controls what system they controlled long ago
-
He is a machine capable of changing his moral code when it sees fit. How can we believe he will, or has not done so to put itself in a favorable position to one day be the all powerful.
