It's because it's 390. You aren't over leveled enough to do that anymore it's the point of challenge mode

I know what the issue is. What I am asking is that they simply buff it enough to kill a boomer at Totems. Since the light level scales from start to finish, it would still not one shot knights at Oryx. And even if it did, so what? Icebreaker actually becomes relevant in a PvE activity??? NO!!!

Black Spindle with 19 uninterrupted rounds of pure DPS goodness is also a better. Now that elemental primary weapons have returned, we are most likely not using IB anyhow. A very minor damage buff for the sake of viability in one instance of King's Fall would not thrust it in to "ubiquity" in the PvE world.

Making it the best sniper except in a limited time frame so in kings fall where that is a factor black spindle would still be a better choice. You're supposed to adapt to the content not ask for the content to adapt to your preference. When would you use icebreaker? When ammo is scarcer and max impact in a short time frame isn't necessary. Is that often no not really but I don't use a non max impact sniper in pve anyways. No point in it. I never need better handling or speed so I'm pretty much just always swapping between my three event horizons. My skill negates the advantages of non max impact so no reason to use them. Pve is too easy to need to use those snipers so yah pvp is their main place.

Compare my raid completions and sniper accuracy to yours. I have an Ambush, Spray and Play, Casket Mag, Hidden Hand Event Horizon. I can "adapt." Point is, I have a cool exotic in my inventory that has zero value in a raid and it is extremely disappointing. Bungie reduced the damage value of 31 impact snipers to separate them from 37 impact snipers. Icebreaker is a 32 Impact sniper; it has max range and is an exotic. It should be able to one shot a red bar Knight at Totems. At Oryx, maybe not and that's fine. Also, consider this: Icebreaker already res snipes. Giving one extra impact point wouldn't break the game.

If you want to use underpowered weapons and spend twice the ammo on killing an enemy, get after it. I guarantee you won't find anyone else that does.

Like I said I already don't use it. With synth there's no point. But bungie will not let it become meta again.

Meta in what? I honestly think you're trying too hard to play devil's advocate. Maybe I just play more efficiently than most, but increasing the impact of IB by one or two points still wouldn't make it a slayer in strikes. LOL.

Different content. Icebreaker is no longer necessary. Ever when it is solar burn, do you fear Valus Ta'aurc? No. You don't need to pigeonhole yourself in the corner and sniper him for 30 minutes to complete a Nightfall.

How many times have people asked for thorn to be viable again or last word. It's just not going to happen with bungie. I'm more jaded than devils advocate

TLW is actually very good; one of the best hand cannons in the game. People want Thorn to be OP.
