How To Improve Your Destiny Experience During a Content Drought

Destiny is getting stale, we all know that. Bungie is making bad decisions, we all know that. However for many hardcore players like myself, who have logged thousands of hours, bought Destiny merchandise, bought the soundtracks and all the DLC , we are finding it harder and harder to keep playing due to the content we have becoming stale and with the next major content release being months away, we need something extra to keep ourselves occupied. What I do, is I make goals for myself, and I'll explain them below. Goal #1: Achieve Max Grimoire again Status: In Progress: 4885/4895 Grimoire has been an integral aspect of my personal Destiny experience since Beta. It's my addiction, it's the thing I love the most. I love unlocking the rich, poetic lore that is hidden within the confines of the internet instead of the game where it belongs. As the number increases, I feel more and more accomplished, due to the fact that few people have and ever will achieve the maximum grimoire score. I feel like a hardcore, dedicated player. Over the last year, my grimoire score has helped me stay in the community, giving me a reason to keep playing, giving me the urge to unlock the next card and read it. It's truly one of the most gratifying experiences I've ever had in a video game. Goal #2: Achieve a 50 True Skill in Crucible Status: In Progress:48/50 As broken and horrific the Crucible can be, at it's very core, the gameplay is some of the most fun PvP experiences I've ever had. The gunplay is awesome, the sound when you kill a player gives me joy, the euphoric feeling I get when I know I just ruined someone's day, gives me more joy than most of life can provide. Therefore, I decided to embark on a quest many months ago to acquire a 50 True Skill on Destinytracker.com. I'm currently standing at a 48 for Skirmish, a 41 in Trials and a 36 in Rumble. It's been more than 6 months since I embarked on this quest. Traveler knows how much longer it'll be until I meet the end. Goal #3: Acquire Every Exotic Weapon and Armor Piece Status: In Progress MISSING EXOTICS: Twilight Garrison, Mk 44.Stand Asides Y1, Ace of Spades, Tlaloc, Raze Lighter & Bolt Caster This is a simple one that most people try to do. I won't get too much into detail since there really isn't much to say but I will say that it'll be a while until this is completed since I'm a lazy twat and I only play my Titan. As bad as it is in PvP, it's what I feel most comfortable with. Goal #4, Become a Top 1% Player Status: Completed I have over 1700 hours on this game. I'm top 1% for score and I used to be top1% for K/D until the SBMM dropped me to the dirty casual 2%! lol Just kidding. Many people enjoy the tranquility being good at the game gives as it gives you bragging rights and to me, makes your opinion have more say than others below you. That's not how the real world should work though, don't get me wrong. I'm a socialist in real life. EDIT: Due to demand for some PvE challenges, I find it fun to solo speedrun Crota. Try to get down to 10 minutes. Raid challenges are pretty good too. Killing raid bosses with certain weapons, beating the raid while underleveled, etc. Even though Bungie has failed in keeping Destiny up to date, we can do it ourselves for now. All you need is some willpower, courage, skill and a shit ton of free time. Good luck out there fellow Guardians!
