Sick gunplay is still present for me.
Still play the game (never really did during the first year because of work and life), still marvel at the visuals and weapon handling, still in awe listening to Marty's work and the story he told us without any words. ;(
Don't think the studio is listening or ready to divulge a clear game plan right now, too busy finding a direction for the game.
I blame 99% of Destiny's pitfalls to the upper crust execs who continuously made the wrong decisions in favor of a quick buck.
Joe Staten's story not good enough? Let's fire Marty O'Donnell?
WUUUUUUUUUUUUT?
It's going to be a long road to find direction and maintain artistic integrity at this point. The studio had the biggest gem in their hands but decided to take a sledgehammer to it, good luck to reassemble all the shards.

I read up on the original story Staten wrote, and compared to what Bungie called "too linear" (which isn't bad all the time) I thought was amazing compared to what vanilla showed us.

I have little to no idea what the story was, but given the option, I'll take beginning, middle and end over the feeling I'm reading book pages, out of order, upside down and written by a second grader who should have been held back a grade. ;) Episodic stories can be very cool, but each part has to make sense and main characters should not be treated like inanimate objects....

PfffHA! That metaphor! Also, good point there about episodic story telling.
