These keep getting more absurd, I completed the hm raid at 306 with a dedicated pug group, as a warlock with no self rez (we all ranged from 306-311). Raid awareness and a group that communicates is more important then the added damage. Light level doesn't keep you alive.

  • I agree with everything you're saying but you have to understand you're playing with random people and you have no idea what their skill set is. If they are above 310 you at least have some facts like the damage drop off.

  • If they are raiding assume they have a good skill set until proven other wise. Having a higher light level or weapons doesn't indicate anything then good RNG.

You're wrong sir. The higher your light the more damage you can take/give to certain enemies. I like to call it a damage drop off but I'm sure others use different terms. As far as skill you could be extremely lucky with drops, thus higher light, and totally suck at the game. That being said, with all the "what ifs" associated with randoms and the raid...the one thing you know for sure is that the higher the light the more damage that person can deal/take. That is a fact.

  • I think you think the damage difference/reduction between say light level 305 and 315 is significant when it's not. Most things that will kill you in the raid will kill a 305 or a 320 the same. Everything else is again about situational awareness, know your surroundings, watch your radar etc. I'd take a group of <310's that communicate and are competent over higher light level with their slight damage output that can't stay out of the knight fire or detonate their bombs any day.

  • You're not understanding my original point. What I was originally trying to say is that I see why people would ask for a certain light when playing with randoms. You don't know how good they are and the only thing you do know FOR A FACT is that the higher their light the more damage they do and more damage they take in. That sir is a fact. I don't know the percentages anymore so admittedly the difference between light levels might be small (I don't think it is) but it is a difference. Look at the ads with a 309 and then go look at them with a 312. There's a difference. Now, also as I originally said. I agree that 99% of people's requirements are absurd. I think they're absurd because, like you, I'd take a more skillful 308 over a terrible 311 but not everyone thinks like us so I can see why some have the requirements that they do.

  • This .... Light lvl is mostly down to luck a 305 can be far more effective than a 311 if they are a stronger player a few extra light doesn't improve your accuracy, communication, decision making etc
