Destiny needs more Global/Timed Events

Hello dear readers, I found a very easy solution, used by many other games with great success, to engage the community, to keep people invested, to have a reason to play continually and to provide every guardian with unusual challenges: Global and one-time Destiny events which happen once a month/every two months. I am not talking about the Iron Banner here, but PvE events with exclusive (and obviously powerful) gear as rewards. These events should be bigger in scope than Raids (not especially in terms of mechanics though. But in terms of community engagement). The court of Oryx already goes into that direction and allows more than one fireteam to participate. What I have in mind would be massive events with a very high player limit, in which you have to fight together to accomplished bounties of massive scale. (step 1 would be to fight off an army invasion of 10k soldiers for example (kills are shared for the bounty by all participants of the event on the server instance)). I am not a creative game designer though , so how to design the encounters, isn't my call to make. But you would have X steps to accomplish before you could face off against a massive boss (could be a living entity like the world's biggest Phogoth, or something more abstract like a tank). Obviously this would need matchmaking. Just like different difficulties and differently tiered rewards. It could have clan rankings and therefore give meaning to clans. Would span at least over a week, so that achieving the completion of the event is possible for most people (if it's not gated by a high level/gear restriction. Then "most people" isn't the correct wording). Access would be linked to having purchased the DLC in which the events would take place (meaning that, if something like that were to happen in the DLC after TTK, everyone not having bought that future DLC would not have access). It would allow for massive fights and action. It reinforces the feeling of us being residents of an ever evolving world. It would give us the massive fights we have read about in the Grimoire. We could fight our own battle of the Twilight Gap. We could get a feeling of how powerful an army of Guardians spawning orbs 24/7 would actually be like. Thoughts?
