For a "social", co-operative game, they sure didn't drop 50¢ on communication infrastructure. If we have to LFG elsewhere, we may as well just play elsewhere, too.

Exactly right good sir! It's impressive how the term "social" and "we'll find you enemies but not friends" isn't contradictory to Bungie.
