The point is purely for cosmetic purposes. Exotic armor pieces themselves look the most badass over any armor in the game. You can't say you wouldn't mind Wearing multiple pieces at once while staying balanced. It would be exactly the same as what we have now essentially but we would have more cosmetic freedom of choice when it comes to armor I'm trying to find a way to give us less restriction while keeping things balanced the same as they have always been. They could allow all exotic armor at once with perks but imagine how OP that would be. PVP would be hell and PVE would be easy as hell. Customization is a really fun aspect to this game we just need more freedom
