Console is the way to go. $400 console plus 10 years of fees is $800 total if you buy it from the right places. A decent PC starts at 600 and it will look shittier than a console for new games.
If you are only interested in old games, PC is a great value.

But the thing is, I don't want to upgrade every time a new game comes out, I don't have the money to upgrade. By the time I do have enough, the next gen might be coming in a year or two. With PC, I'll re able to get games off of Steam with no trouble.
-
I HIGHLY doubt a new console generation will come in two years. Also, if you wish to consistently play triple A titles year after year, you will need to upgrade your PC more often than a console.
-
Hang on... Did you say new games on PC look worse than on console? Dafuq?
-
Yes, yes they did...*facepalm*
-
If you have a 600 piece of crap PC, they most likely will, yes.
-
I don't know about that, but I'll take your word

Well think about it. A console is a budget built PC but it is cheaper because it is mass produced plus MS/Sony keep them as cheap as possible because they make the most money from game sales and services. I know the PC has a larger game library which is why a lot of people like them. However unless you cheap out on everything except the graphics card, and dump most of your money on that, I don't see it outperforming a console at the $600 price point.
-
Lol you could pay the same price and outperform a console easily. Ps4 and xbone were outdated before they even got released.
-
Sure you could...

He is 15 with a part time job over the summer. Few hundred is a lot. Also, it would probably take several months or longer to put together a PC using sales and deals. He would probably end up a generation of CPU/GPU behind by the time he got everything.
-
That's not entirely true, I'm building my pc for 600 and it's pretty beast! Also console restrict a lot of things like indie games and good horror games.

Editado por MarcG420: 4/28/2015 8:07:23 PMFor 600$ you're not going to get much of a pc. If you build/ buy a pc for that price you won't be able to play games on medium in about 2-3 years. This is the appeal to consoles; you don't have to worry about if it will be able to handle the games in a couple of years without an upgrade or two.
-
Finally somebody who understands. All these clowns telling me a $600 PC will outperform a console and last more than a few years... SMDH. A $600 gaming PC can last 10 years if you don't play any demanding titles. However, almost everybody plays games that take a lot of power to run; therefore, consoles are cheaper.

Well when you have friends that have other friends and family who work for major companies you get some pretty damn good stuff!
