Idea for Faction Wars

This is my idea for Faction Wars, it's a mashup of ideas I've seen from multiple other games. I'm sure if Faction Wars are in the pipeline they've already been structured but I figured why not. They could function as follows... - Log on and get a notification similar to the Iron Banner alerts. - Go to the Crucible within the director and view which two factions are at war - Initially, each faction would offer rewards different from each other but equal in value - To earn a reward you would have to win a certain amount of matches (or maybe a certain number of kills or certain amount of XP) while wearing the faction class item - Match making would be better if it grouped guardians representing the same faction (so perhaps you'd select which faction rather than wear the class item) - Whether it's kills, XP, or wins they get added to the faction totals which would indicate which faction is winning or losing + Perhaps the guardians will also be rewarded with Faction Credits after each win, to be used as currency with the faction vendors - As the war continues and a certain faction starts to take a big lead, the losing faction will start to offer more rare/valuable rewards in hopes of attracting guardians + So the game will regularly change the rewards to balance the war - During Faction Wars, add a new category on each vendor (or possibly turn one of the NPCs that stand around the Faction vendors in a vendor as well) that offers emblems, shaders, weapons, and armor that can only be purchased with the Faction Credits earned from winning - As the Faction War ends, the participants have an RNG chance of receiving a gift at the postmaster as a thank you from your Faction ...and maybe... To show some love for the PvE guardians you could do this in a similar manner. So same as above but substitute Crucible matches with mission bounties, similar to the Queens Wrath event. - Each faction will offer rewards for guardians who take their bounties, which require guardians to complete certain missions + Randomly, missions will require different heroic levels as well as modifiers, similar to Nightfalls. More difficult missions/modifiers will reward more points to guardians Faction. - Completions, kills, etc will go towards the faction you wear the class item for - Reward Faction Credits in a similar manner The big point here is that the guardians do not belong to a specific faction but rather they are contracted out to help the faction. Guardians being asked to do dirty work for a faction...just like how the speaker asked us to do his dirty work. If any of this sounds awful to you, please say what specifically you don't like. I'm always eager to trade ideas back and forth to further improve on them.
