The only way I'll take a 29 with me to VoG hard is if they have a maxed out legendary/exotic loadout (weapons). If not, then they'll cost more than their worth and people will have to pick up their slack.

Trust me, a level 29 on VoG hard requires EVERY bit of damage output he/she can get. When it comes to defending confluxes, a level 29 without a maxed legendary/exotic loadout will get overrun each time and it feeds sacrifices. Also, there's a reason why level 30s are delegated to use the relics to kill adds as opposed to 29. The damage output difference between a 29 and 30 is pretty significant. I don't mind taking 29s with me on VoG, but they had better be well equipped and suited to carry their own weight rather than be carried.
