Once again Destiny is NOT a MMO it's more shooter than MMO so go ahead and compare this game to WOW or LOL if you choose to but it's not the same thing.
-
Lol is not an mmo neither. But all those games share some similiarities. Tbh there is no game EXACTLY like Destiny.
-
Yeah there are alot of games Destiny is ripping off from. From a game that feels an exact copy of a halo game from the mechanics,to level design and enemies etc... And the greatest rip off of all is this: http://kotaku.com/destiny-and-phantasy-star-online-have-an-awful-lot-in-c-1645470757
-
Similiar things have been said about WoW
-
and how did phantasy star online not "rip off" most of those from dungeons and dragons? every game recycles content. i think it's funny you think so many people are "brainwashed desticles" when you fail to take any other opinion or information into consideration.

LoL is a subcategory of MMO called a MOBA. Destiny is a subcategory MMO. It has minor level progression like an RPG and has a multitude of players on each instance (MMO) and it has shooters. Saying this is not an MMO is wrong. Saying it is not an RPGMMO like WoW or a MOBA like LoL is correct.
Look at the back of your game case. It reads "Action game" those are Bungie's words therefor your whole argument is invalid. Brainwashed Desticle.
Don't quote yourself when you didn't read the article.

I think Destiny has MMO elements and those elements are overshadowed by the FPS elements but I wouldn't call it a MMO honestly just my opinion. I wish it was more MMO than shooter even though I'm a FPS vet more than a MMO one. And honestly I'd be okay with Destiny if we got what the vidocs showed us we were getting but hem tanking the story the year leading up to launch is a head scratcher and it directly affected the game.
-
Stop for a second. MMO massively multiplayer online. Destiny is this. MMORPG massively multiplayer online role playing game. Destiny has some of this. FPS first person shooter. Destiny has this. Destiny is an MMOFPS with some rpg elements and nothing more
-
I don't think 3 man fire teams or 12 man multiplayer are MMO. I don't think 3 man strikes are MMO like. I think 6 or 12 man strikes are MMO the strikes should've been redrawn to support truly MMO gameplay. The social aspects missing from Destiny aren't MMO like. It's as if Destiny is confused by its own identity wanting to be something it's not. Don't get me wrong I do enjoy the game but I just can't say it's a MMO. We don't have to agree on it its just my opinion that the things Destiny should have to truly be a MMO it lacks.

I agree 16 people in a max server is small but there should be room for growth

Remember when 4 player split screen was considered uncommon on the N64 (pre server days)? I think 12 player PVP (even 6-player raids) could be considered massively multiplayer if you consider the history of games and FPS multiplayer.. Food for thought.
