you know it would be one thing if I didn't get the specific piece of gear I want that is the gamble and not whether or not you get gear that is even relevant to your class. How about you don't defend them okay the game has a lot of problems and this is one and Bungie has to fix this, they programmed it this way and they need to know when something doesn't work.

It says on the engram (random class) so part of the gamble was whether it would be for your class or not. I used to abhor Titans and vowed never to play as one. Then I got a Titan chest piece out of an exotic engram so I dropped my hunter and decided to at least give the Titan a try. Well I've now got level 21 on my Titan and I love them.

Like i said to the other guy encrypted engrams have that same disclaimer but with the rarity of the item and guess what they are changing that because no one likes it. Also you don't understand I have a level 26 warlock, I have spent too much time on this character to simply up and say "Well time to play Hunter" and that is not even a good justification, I have to switch the character class I want to play because you made the system too random. That's not good and honestly if Bungie doesn't do any of the 3 things I said which are either bring a trading system or reimburse me the motes of light or give me a warlock exotic helmet (don't even care which) if neither of these conditions are met I am honestly quitting Destiny until these issues are fixed. I won't max out my crucible points, I won't max my gear I won't do anything I will just stop because I don't like my time wasted and I will not allow a game to waste it without giving anything back in return. My time is precious and Bungie just wasted 3 weeks of it with this exotic thing and I'm n longer giving them my time or money again until they show they truly earned it.

It does work, it just doesn't coddle you. I'm not defending anyone, just pointing out that because you took a gamble and lost, that the gamble is real and is working.

Yeah and you know what the engrams you get also say there's a chance the quality will be random so you can get a legendary engram and get a rare instead they stated that but guess what they are changing it because people don't like it, because it is a bad design choice just like this. It's one thing if it's a random drop exotic engram but this is a paid one used with a large amount of motes of light so getting an exotic for a different class is bad design. I lost over 20 motes of light that I have been saving up for weeks that's not fun that's not good game design, that doesn't encourage me to go and redo the whole thing to get another 21 motes of light. Just putting a disclaimer saying that it's a gamble what class item you get doesn't make me feel better or validate the design choice to have such a thing. Even then even if you don't agree that it's not a bad design choice it still is because there is no trading system to counter balance this, in literally every other game like this there is a form of trading items you don't need with other players and Destiny doesn't even have that. They want to keep the randomness of what class you get fine but add a trade system if you don't want a trade system that don't make it random it's one or the other.

You still haven't made a point other than "it sucked". Dying isn't fun, but we shouldn't be invincible.

How do you not get the point? Bungie made a terrible design choice that literally wastes the time you spend collecting things, they force you to grind out motes of light to pay these ridiculous asking prices and your reward is something you can't even use. How is this point not clear how do you not get the problem, dying in the game is not based on random luck, it is heavily based on how good you are and your equipment is, but this is pure luck and considering you have t pay for it, it shouldn't be so random that you can get gear that isn't even suited to your class. That is the point.

There are guaranteed items you can buy. Then there is the roulette of the engram, which uses a different currency than the guaranteed items so you don't even have to choose between them.

If I walk up to you and say I'm going to kick you in the balls but give you either the option of normal kick to the groin or my choice is that any better simply because if you pick the ladder I could chose to kick you so hard I might end up sending you up into space with a mighty kick. Are you going to be like well he did give the option and he did say his choice is based on random chance that he'll do a really weak or strong kick, no you are going to be furious and try to kick my ass for it. Seriously people this game has too many bad game designs for an MMO, I didn't want the gear that was available and I wanted to take a chance that the gear I get could be what I wanted I am not saying they should give me exactly what I want but at the very least don't give me gear I can't even use.
