What puts you up for a mandatory firearms qualification? Is it work related?
English
-
Prob a cop...
-
Unfortunately, yes.
-
You're a cop and you're not certified to carry a firearm? I'm a civilian and I'm certified...this is back assward
-
Civilians don't get certified, they get licensed. If civilians had to pass a marksmanship qualification most wouldn't own guns.
-
Lol. No I'm fully certified. Been a cop 16yrs now. We have to qualify every 6months. Initial qualifications in the police academy to graduate, then once you start working, you have to re-qualify every 6 months on pistol, shotgun, rifle, etc.
-
That makes sense. I'm considering a career in law enforcement. Sales are just too boring for me.
-
Where u from? How old? College/military?
-
From Texas, live in Colorado now. 24, no military background, tho I do have 3 years at the University of Oklahoma. Looking to finish here at Colorado state. I own land in Texas and have had multiple firearm safety classes and hunters safety courses and i can hit a jack in the box antenna ball at 100 yards with a decent rifle lol.
-
Nice! Well if you feel the need to move to pittsburgh....lol. Boss just told me he wants to hire a few more guys.

Im a military cop. Its a requirement for all law enforcement to continuously re-certify with their firearms. At bare minimum its once every six months. Some departments require more frequent, some less frequent. Theres no "one and done" for cops when it comes to their ladder of force.

Navy. Im a Master-At-Arms. Started off as an Army MP, then transferred services. Dont worry about the job, worry about the service. AF and Navy has better quality of life than the army/marine corps by far. And in the long run, thats what will matter. Pick one of those.

I fully agree with this statement I'm a 31B and am switching over to AF Reserve
