Alrighty, let's break this down.
I am absolutely furious about this level cap! Only Level 20?! Plus, I've heard rumors about PS going higher than Xbox. That is so stupid. We should be equal.
The level cap right now looks like a soft 20. That means that, when DLC is dropped, your level can then increase. Second, you are able to continue levelling up some of your abilities, just as you could in the beta, so you can fully unlock some of the abilities that are available to you. And those rumours? Absolutely false. There is no reason why Bungie would wilfully kneecap an entire set of players. And before you get all hot and bothered, move on to the next piece.
Enough is enough. They get more DLC than us and got the Beta earlier.
You know that it is only a timed release for that DLC, much like Microsoft has the rights to the newest Tomb Raider for a certain amount of time, yeah? Sony shelled out the money to get that stuff and I cannot imagine that it will be much more than a raid or two. The same goes for the Beta. You got to play it too, and unless there was something about it for the first few days that you could not see in the following week, I'm not sure why this is such an issue.
I would like to take the time to point out that Microsoft had the early exclusive market locked down for CoD, another Activision franchise, for a rather long time. And whilst it was never used as a selling point, it is something to consider. Perhaps it is the publisher who gets to pick that and the developers who just make the content. Food for thought.
This kind of goes along the same lines as people who complained about how everyone got to jump in on the last couple days. Does it really bother you that much? Does someone else's enjoyment really take away from yours? Since when do more players suddenly cripple a multiplayer game like this?
I thought Bungie loved their fans.
They do. The interaction that Bungie has with its community is the reason I even bother with b.net to begin with.
Most of the newcomers are a bunch of complainers who need to throw all their toys out of the pram over the kinds of issues that 90% of the player base would never bother with.
I must have been mistaken. And when someone tweets them with this same speech, they answer with some bullshit remark like "We care about all our fans and we are bringing a great game to both platforms".
Welcome to the world of Public Relations. You know they can't just tell all the players out there to go -blam!- themselves, right?
But they never address the issue. They never say why they chose PS over us. Are we being punished?! Did we do something wrong when we purchased all of your games while PS gamers talked shit about them.
They don't have to. Activision controls the distribution of content. Bungie just makes it. It's like getting angry at a brewer (we're talking beer here) because a certain liquor store does not carry his brew. The publishers get to make those decisions, and this time around, Activision is playing to the Sony players. This is probably to draw them in because Bungie had won over a good amount of the Microsoft side of things. It did for me.
We stood up for you guys but I guess now you just gave us the finger and ditched us.
Are they? Did they create a Sony exclusive game? Or is it just some extra junk that will make people feel a little special for a little while before they find someone off of a level 2 Dreg that makes their "day one" armour look like trash?
The fact of the matter is that if they were truly going to dick the entire Microsoft community, they wouldn't bother releasing a game for them. Why deal with the same community that loved them during all of Halo?
I'm not saying I'm not gonna purchase Destiny...
Then why on earth are we having this discussion?
... I'm just saying that I'm extremely disappointed in you guys. If you keep this up in the years to come, you might lose your fans forever.
Oh, you're just not happy with the way things are turning out. They are not perfect. We get that. It's something that everyone has to deal with from time to time. However, right now, the Bungie community is larger than ever.
Right, so I'm hitting broken record levels of repetition right about now, but the "exclusive DLC" is just a timed release. The Xbox players will be able to get it down the road. That has been made fairly clear by both Bungie and everyone who has ever reported on the subject. Again, not unlike what Activision did with CoD or what Microsoft did to make sure that Tomb Raider was "Xbox Exclusive... for a bit."
TL;DR
The game itself will be exactly the same for both Microsoft and Sony players. Any rumours to the contrary are entirely false. The fact of the matter is that you do not like the fact that Sony players are going to get something before you. Will that really matter? After a week of playing and earning your own gear, your own weapons, and building your own legend, will you really still care about the token items they were given at launch? They do not change the game all that much, and they sure as hell won't change yours.

Editado por MightyJonE: 8/28/2014 11:16:31 AMHey red, are you absolutely sure there's a soft cap at lvl 20? That seems awfully low considering we quite easily got to lvl 8 max in the beta. Unless the initial release is a really small game, I just can't see it being so low. Has there been an official bungie statement about it? Btw, it's great being a panda, isn't it? :D
-
Being a panda is amazing! Glad I'm not the only one here. The level cap right now is 20, but it is only for the time being. Barnes was asked this in an interview with Eurogamer. However, with more DLC and the addition of bigger, badder, and more expansive raids, they will raise it over time. In the mean time, you are able to buff your character with the Light stat, which essentially acts as level points and makes it possible for you to get/wear better gear and keep levelling up your guardian. Kind of like how we could upgrade our guardian to 13, but our level said 8. It is kind of the same thing... kind of. As for the beta, the XP we gained came a bit faster than it will in the full game, as did some of the gear we came across. The goal was to make it so that players had access to more without giving them too much, so having a basic understanding of the levels whilst getting a glimpse of the good stuff we can get to make us look forward to the full release. It was brilliant, if not a little underhanded. Btw, both answers are towards the end of the article. See you starside!

Thanks for that, red, that was a really interesting link. Some things surprised me in the interview, so it'll be interesting to see how it all pans out after release

Not sure why you would waste so much time on trolls, but you do it with pizzaz!
-
Didn't realise it was a troll until I was in too deep. Still, thank you sir!
-
Makes perfect sense. =P Have a good day.
-
Nuff said. You sir ,taking time to rationalize with trolls, are a good man. Good thinking man.
-
what an awesome response. the fact that it continues to bitch and moan after attempting to read this allows us to identify what you've found here as the 'modern-day troll' you can tell by its extreme resistance to logic and critical thinking.

That's all the whining I have the energy to deal with today. Your response to OP was very well done.
-
Thank you sir. I actually forgot about boosting your Light after the level cap. Thanks for reminding me!
-
I'm not even gonna read all of this. Dude, get a life.

I know, reading is tough. That's why most of your education was dependent on such a skill. And besides, I'm sick at home for the day, why not faff about on b.net? That's also why I threw down a TL;DR, or was a paragraph also kind of intimidating. Just some reading material regarding the "exclusive" bits. Just below the list of items included. Third paragraph (don't worry, they are about two sentences each).
-
Reading is tough? Uhhhh no, I just don't wanna read an essay written by a sad pathetic, Middle aged guy.
-
I'm glad that my ability to spend more than 5 minutes putting together a proper response makes me "pathetic" and "middle aged." I wasn't aware that 23 was quite that old. Guess I better start looking for a good mortgage to take out and a prostate to get cancer in. But if you want to spend the rest of your day being annoyed by a non-issue, please go right on ahead.
-
Dude that was an amazing response to that idiot who doesn't seem to understand the concept of business, relations and timed exclusives. That's how you separate the true fans who love and support bungie from the new add ons who do nothing but complain. Good job Guardian.
-
My pleasure. Unfortunately, this guy is just a troll passing time and I fell for it. Oh well, it was fun and gratifying whilst it lasted, right? See you starside, sir!
-
That response should of ended this thread. People like the OP makes the Xbox Community look so bad. /thread
-
I wish. Trolls make any community look bad, regardless of which shiny box they have.
