Hell no I'm agnostic atheist (as of early 2014) and that would be a nightmare come true.

no if they followed the bible compleatly no one would force you to believe anything.
-
Just an FYI, atheist and agnostic are two completely different things.
-
No, they're really not. They're two different answers to two different questions. Agnosticism is an epistemic stance which has to do with the extent of one's knowledge. Atheist has more to do with a metaphysical stance. One can acknowledge the fact they don't know for sure and still be entirely justified in being doubtful about the claims that such a thing exists.
-
It's just a term for those between in-the-middle agnostic and explicit atheist.
-
Well, technically agnostic means you believe that the existence (of lack thereof) of a deity is unknowable, and atheism (or at least every prominent modern atheist I know of) teaches that there is no such thing as deity. Unless my definition of atheism is incorrect, you can't really believe both. The inherent open mindedness that is built into agnosticism appears to be at odds with the closed minded, self-assured thinking of atheism. That said. It's entirely possible that my view of atheism has been skewed by the rabid 'Dawkinsian' fundamentalist types, so feel free to educate me.
-
You actually just defined "in-the-middle agnostic" and "explicit atheist" in your first sentence. Like I said, it's just a term used to describe the millions of people whose position on religion is between "not knowing" and "knowing atheist". Are you really going to get your jimmies rustled just because people used a term that you didn't like?
-
Nobody is getting their 'jimmies rustled'. I'm just stating fact. If you think there's probably no such thing as deity, but you're still not sure, you're not agnostic-atheist, you're still agnostic. Once you cross into certainty, then you're atheist. There just isn't any real overlap, just mislabelling.
-
Again, it's just a term used to separate the "I don't know if there's a god" group and the "there's probably not a god" group. I'm going to continue identifying myself as an agnostic atheist because I don't identify with the agnostic crowd, so suck my dick.
-
Nope. Wrong. "Probably not" is not atheist. "Definitely not" is. But hey, why take the time to do any research when you could be petioning a stranger online for fellatio? Oh, well, verbal abuse = reported and no longer worth my time.

Editado por King Dutchy: 8/11/2014 1:25:53 AMWay to not read my post, I never stated that the latter group was atheist, I just stated that they should be separated from the "I don't know at all" group. And again, suck my dick. Also: agnostic atheism is an actual thing.
-
If there is a god, and it's like the one explained in books, then he'd be against it. Agnostic atheist is that if I'm not mistaken.
-
Then it is not even in part agnostic.
-
Agnosticism means that you do not know if there is a god or not.
-
Exactly, which is mutually exclusive to atheism. There's no sliding scale between them, the conditions of each belief are very specifically different.
-
It's worst for atheists; especially anti-theists...
