There's a place called White Ridge Barrow. In it are a bunch of spiders, some dudes, and something called an Imbuing Chamber. You take spider pods (the white things), a gem or oil, and some salt (in sone recipes), shove them in, and it hands you a couple of spiders. There's also a dwarven ruin where you can get some of the robot things to follow you around.
