Why do people not understand the Halo rings only work in this galaxy, when the Supermen can just be off chilling by a blue sun in another one?

  • You do know that the Halo Array affects other dimensions as well such as slipspace, right?

Okay? It doesn't really matter, given he can just move out of the rings' range...

  • He can't move back in, though. The moment he goes back in the galaxy the array will fire at him and destroy him.

  • He can just chill in a sun in another galaxy for a good 10,000 years and become god. At least one of them can anyway

Actually, if he just goes to another galaxy and chills in a blue sun there for a while...

  • Precursors, maybe even Forerunners, have the ability to completely remove stars from the equation.

I know about Precursors, they would be able to win this, but when we're talking Forerunners, you have to understand that their dominion doesn't extend too far past this galaxy at all. We've had that ship graveyard in Silentium which was outside this galaxy and that's it. Whereas Superman can exit the galaxy.

  • Forerunners are able to exit the Galaxy too, right? It's my understanding that at maximum, Superman can travel at the speed of light. Even the UNSC have him beat when it comes to speed and travel, what with slip space and all. I don't think Superman could withstand the arsenal of the Halo Universe, even the Forerunners alone. Doomsday beat him to near death with his fists, brute force, nothing more. This shows that Superman, even if he can take a huge amount of punishment, has a barrier somewhere. I'm sure that the Forerunners can generate far more power than a great number of Doomsdays ever could. I can't remember from which movie it was either, but Superman had taken a blast from a modern day nuclear device, which took him weeks to recover from. Even the UNSC has nukes now capable of destroying an entire planet (the NOVA bomb).

Barely. Only in Silentium do we see them exit the galaxy, and even then it's ancient Forerunners. More importantly, in Justice League Elite, Batman states Superman can fly at least 17 billion km/h. That's roughly 17000 times the speed of light (1.08 x 10^9 km/h). While ships may be able to outpace him, he's far too small a target to even keep track of. Superman doesn't have a barrier- that's the whole point. Doomsday beat him through PIS (are you seriously saying that Superman wouldn't have thought of flying?) and exhaustion. If there are 100 Supermen... well, good luck containing that. Especially because many of them can just chill in the sun while others are distracting everyone. You're thinking of the Dark Knight Returns. One of the absolute worst and most inaccurate depictions of him ever. • He can fly several times faster than light speed, probably more comparable to the Covenant fleet in FTL speed.

  • Covenant have been seen at (I believe) 942 times the speed of light in terms of travel (from the Fall of Reach). Erm.. Might you have a source for that? I'd like to check it out! :D

This is a quote from Screw Attack:
In All-Star Superman, the Man of Steel raced to Alpha Centauri and back within seconds just to pick flowers for Lois before she finished her sentence to him. Now, Alpha Centauri is 4.367 light years away from Earth. Superman went there and back (8.734 light years) in 20 seconds. How do I know it was 20 seconds? Well, using the animated film (since in the comic, it was a single panel), I timed the second he was offscreen to the second he reappeared onscreen, which turned out to be 20 seconds long. Now...how fast did he have to be going to get to Alpha Centauri, pick flowers, and get back in 20 seconds? Let's do the math... If Superman traveled 8.734 light years, then he traveled 513,428,174,000,000 miles (513.4 trillion miles). If we divide that number by 20 (the time it took him to get there and back) then he was traveling at a speed of 25,671,409,000,000 miles per second (25.6 trillion miles per second). That's 92,417,072,400,000,000 miles per hour (92.4 quadrillion miles per hour). And that's 137,809,097 times the speed of light
So really, he's more comparable to the Forerunners.

  • Had no idea he was so OP. But wait, isn't this the most powerful Superman variant as well?
But wait, isn't this the most powerful Superman variant as well?
Holy mother of god no. If this was then we've got this guy, Thought Robot, and a little guy named Gold Prime that we have to worry about.

I just realized, he's reaching out of the lower panel. He's so powerful the comic itself cannot contain him. :O

  • Damn, he's overpowered. As for your tracking statement, I think that Forerunner tech should have evolved by then to the point where they can track things the size of Superman.

Precursors are OP in the Haloverse as they're designed to be that way. An a force nobody can reckon with. Which will make it all the more bada$$ if 343 ends up bringing them into the new story and has us destroy them.
