Just a general suggestion. It seems like a lot of the community is not happy with the game but I hear no complaints from the streamers. I get it...it's free advertising and they buy everything. Its their job. But it's really pissing off the community. How about you invite random players to a summit and see what they think instead? Pick some less notable but obvious hardcore players and get their opinions. Catering to the streamer is pushing many people away. I thought as a business you would want more people to play. It doesn't seem like a sound business model.
They cater way more to the casuals tbh

  • Is this meant to be 'edgy' or some kind of weird Gen Z 'something's funny because it's not funny' thing? Bungie so obviously cater towards people that have nothing else in their lives other than playing this game.

It is. There is no ladder in this game and casuals are taking that for granted. You can get to Pinnacle cap without doing raids making raids useless unless you're going for seals. The loot in raids is mid compared to already craftable items. Raid and dungeon loot are mid and provide no benefit outside of raids. 90% of the game can be done solo and/or casual. The game doesn't need to be more difficult. it needs to be more engaging and not boring in casual content. That's the problem. Casuals complaining that you couldn't play the way you wanted. WELL HERE WE ARE!!! You can lift a rock and just get to pinnacle cap with barely any effort. No reason to run anything else. Stuff outside of raids needs to be like dungeons with less boss health. And I believe that dungeons should be the new strikes going forward. Dungeons should be the very lowest difficulty this game has to offer in casual everyday content. No enrage. No timers. Able to be done solo. I would kill for a dungeon playlist with randoms.

  • Why don't you just petition Bungie to edit the Destiny Splash screen so it says 'DEAD GAME' instead and be done with it? It would be quicker in the long run

90% of the game is casual and you're lucky to even be able to get pinnacle rewards for strikes and onslaught and seasonal activities. There is no pillar or reason for people to do raids because you can easily progress in the game without doing raids or dungeons. A lot of the games like this have a pillar system: One set of activities is used for you to able to do another set of specific activities and then prep for raids. Then you do raids to get to the highest possible cap. Destiny doesn't have that. That's the main reason as to why people don't raid. They got rid of the requirement to do endgame. But since so many people are casuals who don't bother with raiding anyway, they made pinnacle cap super easy to get to. That's also why the raid gear can be completely ignored because they don't actually provide a benefit outside the raid. And even then, the loot in the raid sucks. We can get better loot from other sources. This is because this is the type of community that would complain that they "HAD" to do raids in order to get better gear. If armor from raids provided a benefit and the raid weapons were unique, people would flip out. This game is the most causal take on an MMO that doesn't truly function as an MMO. It's extremely lenient to the players. The only problem is having actual mechanics outside of endgame. People who aren't engaged enough are also leaving. This game outside of raids and dungeons is boring to many people. So instead of playing this game, I play FFXIV where the mechanics aren't for braindead 5 year olds and the community doesn't make fun of you for being a dedicated playing AND having friends. This community is so BACKWARDS in what it should be doing that people actually think that since they paid for the game, they inherently deserve the loot to run around and have fun with without putting in effort to get it. And that's why I don't agree with casuals. They treat this game like it's not an MMO and want to come home after work and sit down and do stuff. That's fine. But don't complain about it. Endgame isn't being treated like it should either. Learning should be seen as a valuable asset.

  • If thats the case where did all the freelance options go for like crucible and gambit go? Or freelance trials? If they catered to casuals like you think they do, bungie would have already made duel destiny soloable and made alot of changes to matchmaking for like dungeons and what not because "casuals" have been asking for that but not a word from bungie.

  • Also, FTF literally exists. There is no mm because they want you to be intentional with your joining, and not just jump directly into a raid with no mic, expecting a strike and then dropping into VotD.

  • It Is baked in dude! They no longer have freelance because after ftmm there was no need. The majority of games, fireteams are against fireteams, and solos v solos.

  • That's a load of horse -blam!- and you know it. Solos are constantly paired against stacks in that matchmaking hence why solos want freelance back.

  • Part of the reason solos are being matched badly is due to low player population. If population was higher it would match better but when the game is peaking at like 100k players and only a fraction of that are in pvp at any point in time, its going to prioritize get players into a match quickly over waiting for a bunch of solos to queue up from around the globe. Remember d2 has a hybrid MM system.
