1st. Pathfinder awards 3 pinnacles per week per account.
With this system you have a chance to get all 3 pinnacles without playing PvP or gambit where as before to get all 3 pinnacles you would have to play all 3 activities.
2nd, in no way does anything force players to play PvP or gambit other than their own deluded minds.
3rd, stay in school kids

Because there are several posts on this forum alone, as well as screenshots, of path-finding "trees" having no PVE only path available to reach the pinnacle. Bungie seems to have mostly fixed the issue since then, but the first three or four weeks, including the IB ones, yeah, you had a very high chance of getting a bad roll on the tasks to be done and be forced to do IB/Crucible in order to be able to do the reset. Spin it as you want, but the current iteration of Pathfinder is crap. Ideally, it should have been a Pathfinder tree for each ritual. Not one for all three. Which is weird because they DID a separate one for the Pale Heart.

Precisely my point about a deluded mind. Why force yourself then complain about it? Wanting a pinnacle and hating the requirement is the opposite of being forced to do the activity. You have a desire and will to get the pinnacle reward. Being forced means against your will. If you want the reward, dislike the requitement but choose to chase your desire and force yourself to do what's required for the reward ypu want then it's beyond idiotic to complain and imply the game or whatnot forced you.
