It was me. I am not sorry. Eager edge, shoulder charge, you name it. If I can shove you off the elevator and watch you flailing your buttons futilely to get back on, if I can throw you off a cliff or watch you blip into a wall at light speed, in a strike, then I feel more than justified in gorging myself on the bounty objectives (aliens) while teabagging your ghost and or body....I call that a win win win....I win three times.
So you liking 5th grade

  • Haha. I am actually working on a masters in theology at the moment, but I do like 5th grade humor. Simplicity can be mistaken for stupidity, but only by those who lack the wisdom to discern the difference. I like ragdoll physics and shock humor, call it a Halo relic, call it childish, I am having fun, and you aren't. I call that a...well...you know.

  • Wow, a masters in theology, that must mean you are real smart. How do you rectify the passive teachings of theology with your incessant need to cause pain to your fellow players? A little Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde? Personally, I just report the player that does that to me. If it happens multiple times an activity, they get reported multiple times.

  • Assumptions: Incessant. Pain. Passive values. <~ especially odd given that religion, although inappropriately, has been cited in the ethos of many nations who go to war. In many places, religion is the only excuse for violent acts, like the death penalty. What gives a man the right to decide that the just consequence for taking life is to have life taken, other than the theological notion that taking life is inherently evil, establishing a theology of goods and evils and justifications for retaliations based on those goods and evils, it is not a good theology but it is one none the less. Theology is just a broad study of the logic behind the belief that, instead of everything magically wishing itself into existence for no reason, from nothing...something must have made it. Why so many scientists are theists, unlike what the media would have you think, is that given two options, made, or magic...the Occam's razor would say made.

  • Usually I assume that if someone really feels pain over a video game then they are beyond the reach of what I would call the good example. Light hearted fun is just fun. Or do you think any sport where people get hurt should be against theological values? There is a difference between your imaginary standard of good and the theologically established absolute good. Have a good day...and if you're really interested in some kind of debate in which you question my actions as they are judged by my values, you would need a similar level of knowledge in the same field. You don't, therefore any basis by which I would normally defend my actions, say in the name of developing humility, which is a key aspect of sports in a Christian life, would simply be too much a sermon for what it is worth (your approval).

  • Not to get too dramatic but you're a bully. You seek pleasure from other people's unhappiness. There has to be some kind of sickness there no matter how much you try to rationalize that it's just "good fun" because YOU enjoy being a bully.

Agreed. Typical bully excuses are things like "just having fun" and "where's your sense of humor" and generally try to blame the victim. Yes, it's just a video game. But taking pleasure from screwing up other people's fun is what bullies do.

  • Get over yourself. Having fun is about your mindset. If me shoving you off an elevator in a video game is enough to tip your scales then I suggest you stop seeking your pleasure in a video game. We shot real mortar fireworks at each other as kids...I've survived being shot at by zealot terrorists in real life...so I don't think you're going to get actually injured by a prank pulled in a video game. What an absolute squish.

  • Clearly you are more wrapped up in yourself than concerned with consideration for others. Noted.

  • When I play video games it is generally for my own pleasure and has little to do with a desire to make others happy. I consider that to be their job and I leave them to it. If I fling a guy who is just standing around...oh well. If I get flung back...even better. It's fun to see how far you can make someone fly when they least expect it. And since it is a game...it should never be taken so seriously that you get mad or depressed over it. I am sorry that you have such a hard time relaxing...but you are the type who can't be happy. It has nothing to do with how I act in a video game. If can't stomach a simple team kill in a strike, I have bad news for you when you become an adult.

  • You know nothing about me; your assumptions are entirely invalid. So you don't consider the other people playing the game "with" you to be of importance? Go play something that's purely solo, then. Much of D2 involves some degree of collaboration with others; the humans on the other side of those connections don't matter to you? The cowardice of internet anonymity probably appeals to you. It doesn't have to be about making others happy; in this case it's about NOT making them unhappy. Oh wait, bullies get their rocks off by doing specifically that. And blaming the victim to justify their sociopathic behavior.

  • I hate internet cowardice. I led to the soft little bellies you all show here. I did serve, shot at and was shot at by terrorist zealots that will actually get captured just to detonate themselves. I find it cowardly to spend your time pretending to be in combat and then because you don't want to acknowledge that you are only sitting on your -blam!- relaxing and not being put upon in any real way, you want me to play along and develop some kind of combat camaraderie, and sing kumbaya around the campfire.... No....I will treat this like it is...a toy ...and if you cry over how someone else plays with a toy...you can leave the sandbox.
