The forums are filled with toxic players and ex players. It’s unfortunate and I combat them daily. It should be a place to share, help and give constructive and realistic feedback. They need to start removing them and once banned anything on their IP address should be banned as well. I receive toxic and vile DMs daily and I report them but I’m not so sure they’re being banned. I hope they start to police the boards and make a change for the better. Toxic behavior and constant bashing of the game needs to stop.

The tools we use are extensions of our core values. A hammer 🔨 can build a house for a homeless child but it can also harm a person. It's how the wielder of that tool chooses to swing the hammer they've been given. Banning them would just send that toxicity to another doorstep. Let's shower them with 💕 and edit their comments so they retain the original content but frame it in a context that shows respect and empathy. That way we can take some accountability for our fellow players and help our community grow stronger together 💪.

The lack of accountability on the forums has led a small group to disrupting civil discord and interaction. This is why they have a code of conduct agreement. I reported another vile DM today. No one should feel uncomfortable because a minority of people think it’s funny to bash the game, players and post negative and or bigoted things. It’s unacceptable on every level. Your logic enables the bad behavior and is why Bungie rarely interacts here anymore. Many of us that love the game want to see that change.

Editado por The Hermit IX: 11/17/2022 5:09:45 PMI confront them after my in box gets filled with vile DMs Not sure you deal with that but I do I don’t send vile dms either I got multiple ones yesterday after the bans and removal of posts happened So no I will fight fire with fire at every turn at this point This includes you or anyone who gets aggressive with me I’ll start reporting and hand over pics of the messages until they’re cleaned out of these boards for good and they become some what normal for everyone I have no problem with civil discourse but that’s not what I deal with I’m also getting a lot of support from players here that want the forums to be a positive place The minority of players that hate the game are the loudest but we have the numbers It’s that simple

Being passive-aggressive is an inappropriate approach to dealing with toxicity, in my opinion. The support you’re getting is common-ground as everyone promotes the idea of a positive environment. Let a forum moderator handle the reports and move on.

My approach with dealing with them is direct and head on so there is nothing passive aggressive about how I handle them. I do report but the entire group of them are well aware of the lack of moderators available and they use to their advantage. So that’s why I deal with them the way I do. If you haven’t noticed it’s starting to work.

Yeah, I’ve noticed quite a few obvious trolls who keep showing up. I’d like to see less of that nonsense as it impacts the overall atmosphere of the forums. I also think there are genuine fans who get caught up in the latest drama of something ‘killing the game’. Or maybe they feel like their grievance will be better heard if they have a tantrum about it. I’d rather we steered the forums back to being a bit more fun and celebratory. That’s why I play the game and why I come to the forums. Hey, a guy can dream… 😄

Yeah yeah... I even used the same words you typed and exactly like you typed them. I was discussing with another person about Main playlist activities being Strikes, Crucible and Gambit... About a shared world... And how 2 of those playlist have PvP... You chimed in and said Patrol was the main story and when I said "oh boy, take care bud" - you hilariously typed - you find that VERY interesting.

You were talking about Crucible, Strikes and Gambit (I think) and I pointed out there are other activities that people play regularly (Patrol, Story, Raids etc). Not sure how that’s relevant here, or why you took it personally and why you’re bringing it up again?

The only thing I might have done is make a joke about the fact you cut off the conversation because I challenged you about what the core activities were. Again, no idea what that’s got to do with this post. Can fans of the game not disagree or not challenge each other’s opinions?

No we don't have to do this... We are squared away in my book bud. I'll never bring it up again. I know I'm a bit harsh, and that's why I tend to just say "okay whatever, take care", because I struggle finding the right way to articulate my thoughts. I typically type how I speak. And it's obvious that comes off harsh. But yeah man... it's all good. C'mon lets be friends... I mean that to he funny, and also true.

I think you have the right idea and most players would love the forums to be a place to seek help with the game, share and post and discuss realistic and respectful feedback. I’m working on cleaning out as many of the bad apples as I can.

I won’t lol I’m 2 matches away from my Iron Lord seal so I’ll have that to drink to after my day is done. I love the game and I also understand there’s things that need to be addressed. Wouldn’t it be great if these forums were cleaned up enough so Bungie staff would interact more often? It can be done but it will be work to make it tolerable lol.

Cheers to your Iron seal! Hippy made a post recently and I was pleasantly surprised to see that the overwhelming majority of responses were respectfully delivered. Hopefully we can see more of that type of thing.
