Beyond light was a far better dlc. Better raid, better map, story telling was better, stasis was way better handled than the new branches from forsaken, and the story was less of a bother to go through on the following two characters.

  • You’re entitled to your opinion, but man, Beyond Light is one of the worst DLCs overall for me. The music, raid, and Lament quest really saved it, otherwise I might put it down as the worst Fall expansion we ever got.

  • Problem is bungie is makeing muney to fast it makes all its muney in the first session of every dlc and has no need to work hard on the rest of the sessions a dlc base is better then a session base for a game like destiny bungie works as hard as it can to keep the community happen and make the game as fun as it can and just releaseing new content 1s a year gives the devs the time need to do it the session base bungie makes its muney to fas and the devs r over worked sessions is killing d2

  • I’m saying Europa is a better planet map than tangled shore or dreaming city.

  • Dream city and tangled shore have more to do then Europa Europa is a biger planet and had a lot more time and work on How it looks but is very under used

  • They really don’t. The story missions about the curse are equivalent to the wrath born hunts, the exo challenges are better and easier to get to than the addenda that challenges, they both have patrols but the ones on Europa are better made because they never ask you to kill an enemy type that there’s only one of in an area, the state ties were pointless activities that didn’t give good loot but could be compacted to the secrets on Europa, both locations have a raid but DSC is a thousand times a better raid than last wish and has a very unique location it takes place in, and tangled shore has literally nothing on it but spider making it a completely useless map post forsaken campaign.

  • Tangeld shore was not a big part of the game after first session of forsaken europa is a nice planet but way biger then it needs to be it takes the space of 2 planets and is under used do to How little content we get

  • Like all of forsaken’s story was on the tangled shore and it is way larger than it needed to be and more annoying to make your way around. The maps were also poorly labeled, the map content was split between it and the dreaming city meaning that -blam!- is spread out across two completely different planet locations. Europa meanwhile is a complete loop, has useful landing zones, visually is better for finding stuff, and is labeled making objectives easier to find.

  • Not all of it the dreaming city and the tangled shore and its the story How it is to give You a lot to do Not every one like the story thet way You get people who like just 3or 5 missions and the story to be happening around You but You get people who like lots of missions and want the story to be about You thers no wrong or right to thet its just How it is

  • Gotta agree there, the design team did do a pretty good job making Europa come to life. My only gripe is how the storytelling really hasn’t changed much at all since Forsaken, let alone even earlier. Too much of the in-game interactions take a back seat to dialogue and narrative told from the outside, from bits of lore and the occasional Lore Entry on B.net. Never should a major plot element be taken out of the game’s narrative and shoved into some side-script, like Sagira’s Sacrifice and how little buildup there was to the Fallen Exo and Taniks.

  • That’s weird I felt Europa was one of the most underdeveloped boring non alive location in destiny right under io

  • I meant really as far as atmosphere goes. It felt barren, desolate and really sold the cold, ice encrusted tomb of a moon deal that it was set out to be. Now, as far as actual content goes, yeah there was ample opportunity to make full use of it all and yet was wasted. Riis Reborn was one such example.

  • I think the story telling since beyond light’s campaign, meaning season of the hunt and on, have been told the way they have to allow for season of the lost where you’re questioning information. The story of sigira’s death is as told by savathun being Osiris. So it feels like more of a conscious choice for the last year. The story telling it think is better is the direct story of beyond light. The story missions didn’t big you down as much as forsaken, the use of stasis at key story moments made the story of the subclass more eventful and impactful unlike getting your new trees in forsaken. The fact that the post main story missions gave you abilities for your stasis making them have a reason to redo on second and third characters was good motivation. The post story also has more in game reasoning and fun aspects than dreaming city content. Like personally I’m fine with how the external stuff is done, like the lore pieces. They’re things that have nothing to do with your character and would big down the understanding of what your character is experiencing. I do like the in game cutscenes where you’re an observer of conversations from the seasons since beyond light though. They’re like lore but lore you know your character is supposed to know.

  • The dialogue, the mysteries in the shattered realms, and the in game cutscenes are all story. And all of it is better than the -blam!- they were doing during forsaken and the seasons following. Those seasons consisted of only one activity and just reading text dialogue and no in game dialogue or cutscenes. They were also not story. They were pointless menial tasks repeated with the hopes of upgrading something for an unexplained reason because the grind wasn’t meant to match the story it was made to keep people playing as long as possible because they had nothing else to keep people coming back. The current seasons don’t have that sort of tedious grind, they have a story that is far more fleshed out through dialogue and in game events not just lore entries, and they actually have anything to do with each other and impact the games world.
