if were just going by expansion content and not including annual/season passes then I gotta go with forsaken since I much prefer LW over DSC and the shattered throne with the light subclass additions were pretty nice unlike beyond light which released stasis (the bane of my existence) and had no dungeon

Beyond light was a far better dlc. Better raid, better map, story telling was better, stasis was way better handled than the new branches from forsaken, and the story was less of a bother to go through on the following two characters.

You forgot a year . Shadowkeep. The year that had the best rewards.

I carry the super [i]unpopular[/i] opinion that D2Y1 was the best. I had more exptic drops than I ever got in D1, the pvp was [i]actually[/i] decent [i]imo,[/i] HC's felt the best, and I could [i]actually[/i] get to the level cap. Now D2 plays [i]just[/i] like D1. An unrewarding grindfest.

Oh come on people. This has easily been the best overall year in D2.

Forsaken had the best campaign and the best activities as part of the expansion itself. But Bungie made poor use of their replayability. The Seasonal content was disconnected and its story lines were not well integrated into the larger story. Lastly the progression system and loot systems were TERRIBLE. Power creep ran rampant. Crucible was turned into a joke by CBMM and Overpowered Pinnacle weapos. Beyond light had a solid campaign...but was THIN on post campaign content But I think it is having the best run as far as seasonal and post-expansion campaign play is going. Right now the game feels like the "action-MMO" that Bungie said they wanted to make. The seasonal content feels well integrated. It feels like we are playing in a perssistent world with a single unified strory being told. The writting and the arranging of both weekly story and lore content is firing like a well-oiled machine. Gear feels powerful but not game-breaking. The overhauls to the core playlist vendors feels good The ovehaul to Trials this season feels good The only things that need to be fixed are the: 1. Progession system. 2. The lack of loot 3. Sunsetting (there IS no avoiding this) 4. Crucible (the current model of pvp in this game is incompatible with where Bungie wants this game to go in PVE).
