veterans who feel wronged by this should consider that you are not the only players that matter and your reward was to obtain it before everyone else.
Or newer players could just accept that they missed out.

But why does there even need to be exclusivity for anything in Destiny? Especially for something as simple as shaders. I've been playing for all 7 years and this is still stupid.
But why does there even need to be exclusivity for anything in Destiny? Especially for something as simple as shaders. I've been playing for all 7 years and this is still stupid.
Because consistent playtime should be rewarded. If I play Destiny consistently and regularly acquire shaders, someone who doesn't play shouldn't be able to walk up and get the same things I get.
-
But why does there even need to be exclusivity for anything in Destiny? Especially for something as simple as shaders. I've been playing for all 7 years and this is still stupid.
But it’s not. You don’t get rewards for not being there.

Then why can't there be a simple grind for old items? And, yes it is exclusive and stupid. For example: you can't earn old Iron Banner shaders by just playing IB. Name one good reason why it's okay for once obtainable items to be unobtainable. What value does it actually offer players who were there to earn those items. Prestige? Self Worth? Inclusion? Come on it's a game. Now armor, sure. Bungie has shown they will recycle those items anyway. Season pass ornaments, naw. If people miss it, then it should just be in Eververse with all the other cometics or attached to a grind, just like the Leviathan raid ornaments. After all, all you would have done is miss out on bit of grinding. What's the harm in an alternate grind after the season has passed?
-
It's called rarity and is part of a game where flexing what you have EARNED is part of the game
-
When it comes to actual loot, sure. However who would honestly care about an equal alternative grind for throw away playlist shaders that are unobtainable for everyone else. Y'all act like you're being violated. Which playlist shaders are not nearly as valuable as the shaders that require flawless clears or grinds of a similar difficulty. Those can remain as they are.
-
I missed stuff in season 1 and 2 of d2 it was my choice not to play so why should I be able to get them now doesn't matter if it's green shader or anarchy if I didnt earn it I don't get it. Example I grinded out prestige spire for catalyst for sleeper now you can get it from strikes l. My time and effort was made meaningless because people complain they missed out
-
Editado por Ranthop_II: 6/10/2021 4:34:52 PMOkay, again, shaders. "Oh, hey this old shader - you earned for doing next to nothing - is back!" You say your effort, or mine, would be made meaningless huh... exactly how much effort was invested to obtain these throw away shaders anyway. (I mean I know cause I was there.) I wouldn't care if you had access to shaders I could get back then. Even if you weren't there to earn it. Because it doesn't matter! You might actually like one of those old shaders, but then idiotically refuse to wear because reasons? This thread isn't that serious. It's a game, we all deserve to have fun!
-
Showing off an old and rare shader is just as important as showing off a god roll there are plenty of weapons and shaders and emotes I missed out on and I should just get them because it's unfair I missed them sorry that's weak
-
This last post is for perspective about bringing back old shaders. I value my Anarchy way more than the shaders that came with the raid. I cleared Scourge of the Past 101 to earn the exotic. Let's think about the fact you can just purchase it now. Am I annoyed that Anarchy can be purchased from the legacy kiosk, personally not so much. Everyone who missed the raid has to grind spoils and currency. My experience to obtain the exotic was bs rng, lol. I had the patience to stick it out and earn it - that's my story. Most people can't say they would have the patience raid SotP that much. Sharing that story is what I take pride in. To me my grind isn't devalued, it's enriched when compared to everyone else who missed out. Why should you get these old shaders, I say why not. As someone who earned this stuff I am telling you it's okay! What is weak is you and everyone's lack of legitimate reason against it. Y'all are trying to compare shaders to actual loot. You are over valuing a lot of these shaders.
-
I have also countered all your points with examples all you have done is call me weak as your obviously gett8ng triggered at the fact I've beaten you quite convincingly in th8s little debate
-
I play ed iron banner and have the year 1 shader. It's rare because not many people played. Giving that to everyone else devalues it's rarity immediately. Why should you be given stuff you want around to earn. People are way to entitled and think they deserve things they didn't get. Shaders are a big part of drestiny having a shader that not many people have is a way if showing off. Giving it to people who where not there to earn don't get it pretty simple. Start enjoying what you have and not dwelling on what you don't have. The fact you can play a game makes you more fortunate than a lot of people already
-
Alright, apparently you all need what ever you can get to feel some semblance of "rarity" when it comes to shaders. Entitlement though? You're comparing the expectation of a handout or bonus, like a job (or whatever real life example you want to think of), to a game. I haven't mentioned either, I suggested an equal and alternate grind for a shader's reintroduction to the game. By all accounts you'd still be working for it, especially if you pay for the season. Playing Destiny for free and expecting all seasonal content would be entitled. Fortunate, yes I am. I fully recognize that and appreciate what I have in life. I see reality for what it is and I am continually learning more. However here we are arguing the value of cosmetic shaders, in regards to a F###ing video game as though it means anything when compared to the rest of the world. Beaten me convincingly? You haven't changed my mind so no. I haven't changed yours either so moot point. I'll agree to disagree with all of you who are against it. This has been one of the most irrational threads I have replied to and I am reminded how warped this community can be sometimes.
-
If you paid for this season you should be able to attain everything provided your good enough and put in the effort. By the same token though people who paid for something like curse if Isirus and supported destiny during it's arguably worst periodcl should be entitled to have shaders and weapons exclusive to that season to show they were here during the dark days and stuck with the game. You say shaders are not a big deal a s5rong l y disagree the way your guardian looks is a huge part of what destiny is, having a shader from a long time ago shows you have been there from the beginning that should not be devalued.

You don’t get rewarded for not playing the game. How does this not make sense? A mature and reasonable person would understand that if you choose to do something else other than play this game that this game moves on without you and you inevitably miss things. That same person in theory would be alright with that fact considering they made the CHOICE to do something else. This is a live service game that continues to change and evolve. It’s not your one and done single player game. Play that if you want your rewards to be available to you until the end of time. Game or not, you don’t get rewarded for NOT participating,
-
why would you automatically assume that I wanted a free handout, I was talking about a way to earn them, not just give them away to everyone.
-
why would you automatically assume that I wanted a free handout, I was talking about a way to earn them, not just give them away to everyone.
Where did I say you wanted a handout. I am saying that you don’t get rewarded for not participating in the activity. You did not play during X season or did not earn said cosmetic during X season. That’s on you and your choices.

Editado por Ranthop_II: 6/7/2021 2:41:27 AMWhat if they were deployed for 11 months, sure it was their choice to be part of the military, but don't they have a right to what we have now? That's not a made up scenario, I read it. For people who like Destiny, but can't have the same choice to log in like you or I do. Is that fair, I guess so if they agreed to invest any amount of time in the game. As you say.
-
Don't join the military simple. Why is it all the military p people cry they miss out on stuff I thought they trained you to be tough not little girls

The veteran in my example felt a little differently. They expressed interest to obtain old cosmetic items. I can empathize with them.
What's the harm in an alternate grind after the season has passed?
As long as there are no problems storing the memory of all these cosmetics on our accounts, or if the game can handle the memory, there shouldn't be an issue. If memory is an issue and they simply can't put old Iron Banner shaders in the activity itself, then why doesn't Bungie tell us. Why haven't they added other old shaders, from Iron Banner or Crucible, into the Eververse. Who knows, it's their philosophy.

Even more so the wrong person to use that against. The person missed out due to other obligations. It sucks, but it is what it is in a live service game. That person can go play single player games that aren’t meant to change. I can suggest subnautica below zero.

Editado por Ranthop_II: 6/7/2021 6:03:58 AMI don't know the actual term for someone who is still active, but yes they are active from my understanding.
