What's even worse is all the IDIOTS who think it will either be executed as they claim, if not at all.
They do this every year. Remember those awesome finishers that drop ammo and recharge abilities? Yeah, not as advertised. How about the new supers? That they neutered since launch. Or the "improved" dust economy? Sure, more sources, but higher prices.
They dangle the carrot, the sheep mob it, and all they get is a bite of the whole thing while the rest is tossed away.
Sure they add transmog, half into Y4, after they get all the money from season passes and pre orders. Then they reveal it's $4 per consumable that is used once per armor piece, per slot, per character only. So now you have to dump $20 for one set on one character, or $60 for all 3 to have only one set. Oops, did they forget to mention that when they announced it?

Eh, while it's wrong to think people idiots for having wishful thinking, they're naïve as hell if they actually think anything positive enough to start the recovery process on this game will happen. When is the last time something really great happened that wasn't reverted or has otherwise faded one way or another. Story moved forward in Shadowkeep in a great way, since then it's gone to hell, there's just no story being told. Snipers finally got buffed, now they're dead. Trials came back ..... Ships are actually in our solar system now and yet all anyone feels is uneasy because there's little to no confidence that even a major expansion can or will fix anything. That's without even thinking about what comes after the major expansion.

Diablo 3 is the first and only example as to how transmog should be implemented. This TWAB should have explicitly stated that once the armor was recorded in your collections it would count as an ornament. Having your armor look the way you want is a right not a privilege. Make me grind for stats and stats only.

Yeah I disagree on that bit too. It's most certainly not a right, but something players have wanted for a loong time, especially when a big part of the marketing in D1 was fashion.

I was going to reply a long explanation, but looks like the others beat me to it. As said, fool me once logic. Bungie constantly promises big things, and all we get in the end is a faulty sparkler. The fact that people try so hard to hold onto the fact this game will be anything super are bias and blind. Was D1 good in the end? Sure. It had rough patches, but in the end was still good. D2 removed everything they spent 3 years to figure out. Let me say it again, 3 years to get it in a good spot. Then they remove it all in D2. Then take another 3 years to put it back. Seeing a pattern here? Next year in D3, it will repeat once again. They keep removing things that work, just to replace them behind a paywall of empty promises. This isn't opinion, it's a trend of data and historic occurrences.

There’s nothing wrong with having hope in a chance. Not hype or being cynical. Just an acknowledgement there’s a chance it will be good.

Let's put real psychology into this. You touch/pick up the TV remote and get a painful but non lethal jolt. This happens 80% of the time you do so for the span of 2 years. A friend comes over and asks to pass the remote. You hesitate and/or refuse, as the pain isn't worth them being lazy. That's D2. We have been screwed and lied to so much that it's second nature to bet on it failing. Think of it as Pavlovian response. Data and psychology.

It’s good to be skeptical in Bungie. I agree. No need to be be cynical.

Pavlovian response: Bungie gives a glimpse of what could be, and the sheep start to salivate and hope to be thrown the bone. Case point, you. If you are defending it this hard, you have already been conditioned to think they will keep their words true. You can call people names all day, but those who follow blind faith are dumber than the common man. You blindly follow Bungie's words, even though the evidence and history stacks walls against it. "Blind belief in authority is the greatest enemy of truth." -Albert Einstein

"Blind belief in authority is the greatest enemy of truth." -Albert Einstein
Again you are using the psychology wrong. Pavlov demonstrates conditioning using a stimulus. Good example is, if you watch office, when Jim makes a noise with his computer and proceeds to give Dwight a mint. There’s a constant variables that are tested. I’m not calling people names all day. Just you. I’m not defending Bungie nor am I defending that things will be great. I’m defending the principle of this matter now. Devils advocate. Having a constant negative attitude makes you almost want the game to fail just to prove your point. Move forward and have a little hope in chance. “Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving” -Albert Einstein

My logic is sound. In your eyes, content is the reward. Bungie announces content (bell), you get excited (response), they drop said content (reward). You just haven't noticed the flavor getting stale as it's been a gradual introduction (ie, slowly getting worse). Honestly at this point I do want it to fail. Halo was great under their care. D1 later on was much better than launch, as they learned from 2 years of play. The community is giving feedback and advice, which is being blown off, but obviously that's moot. They have been crashing this ship for the last year and a half, about time it sinks. In regards to name calling, it's very apparent I'm not the only one. Everyone who disagrees with you is a target it seems.

Fooled 1 time by something = Neutral Fooled 2 times by the same thing = Gullible . . . Fooled 20 times by the same thing = Idiot If you disagree, how many times do you think it should take someone to be fooled by the same thing (by the same people) in order to be called an idiot?
