As you know, rewards for your character come from a variety of places: Playlists where you find random folks to play with, aspirational activities like Raids, Trials, and Dungeons where you form up a Fireteam, and even Eververse, where you sling some Silver or Bright Dust back at us for items you want. However, in today’s Destiny 2, the balance of the game’s rewards is not where we want it to be. To be blunt, there isn’t enough pursuit out in the world. We’re going to fix it. Let’s get to it. [u][b]All of this and more is planned for Destiny 2 Year 4: [/b][/u] [u][b]VANITY AND ACCESSORY (SHIPS, GHOSTS & SPARROWS) CHANGES [/b][/u] [b]We will be adding a Transmogrification feature to Destiny 2. [/b] This will allow players to turn their Armor into Universal Ornaments. We plan to allow players to do this with in-game effort OR Silver. This feature is in early development and is expected sometime during Year 4. [b]Each Season we will deliver an aspirational pursuit for armor. We haven’t done this consistently in Destiny 2. [/b] - This armor will come from activities, not the Season Pass nor Eververse. - As an example: We removed the Eververse Armor from Season 11 and itemized it into an aspirational activity, because this is the right thing to do for the game. [b]We are improving the rewards for Aspirational Activities (Raids, Trials, Dungeons)[/b] - Going forward, Aspirational Activities will reward players with power, items, and vanity. - When we build an Aspirational Activity it will have at least one accessory to pursue. - The team is working on Adept Weapons for Trials of Osiris. - Trials will get new Armor (aka not reprisal), accessories, and weapons in Season 13. - Trials will get new Armor every year. - Destiny’s next Raid will have brand new Armor, Weapons, and Exotic Accessories to pursue (no spoilers). [b]Beginning in Season 12, we will no longer be selling ships, ghost shells, sparrows, or armor ornaments in Eververse that are visually based on themes from Aspirational Activities.[/b] - We are not planning on changing existing items as that is time we could be spending on itemizing the future. [b]CORE PLAYLIST REWARDS CHANGES (STRIKES, GAMBIT, AND CRUCIBLE)[/b] [b]We are adding a new set of Armor for the core playlists (Strikes, Gambit, and Crucible). This armor shares a set of new geometry, with decals and shaders specific to the activity. [/b] - We will create new sets like this each Year (e.g., Year 4, Year 5, Year 6, etc.) This set will arrive alongside the next Expansion. [b]Starting in Season 12, we are adding a new Pursuit Weapon each Season.[/b] - This weapon can be earned by playing your preferred Core playlist. - This weapon will have activity-specific Legendary Skins that can be unlocked in each playlist. [b]We will no longer be selling new Legendary Weapon Ornaments in Eververse[/b] [b]DUST AND ENGRAMS.[/b] [b]We are making it easier for you to earn Bright Dust. [/b] - We will be moving away from character-specific ways to earn Bright Dust and more toward Account-specific paths. - This change is geared toward giving one-character players significantly more Bright Dust than they earn today. [b]We’re updating the Bright Engram to be more relevant than it is today. [/b] - The earned Bright Engram in the Season Pass will be updated to include various Year 3 Eververse items previously sold for Silver and Bright Dust. I say that the pvp WEAPON meta is the best it’s ever been since vanilla D2. Sure auto’s are op but 150rpm handcannons still have a better TTK. Just give auto’s a range reduction and do only 80% of the damage buff and they’ll be balanced.

I agree that autos are op and annoying but you have to admit that there is always going to be an op gun that we want nerfed

It's not just sad it's ridiculous. Wow we get more cosmetics...that's what I waited my entire destiny life for cause there is nothing else to do like fixing the game for example...😜😂

Don’t mistake forum knights and fanboys or even employees with the community. Most of them are desperate to tell their friends who have uninstalled and don’t want to hear about this game or even mock them for still playing it a reason why this game is still worth dedicating their life. They will use whatever crumbs as support for their delusion. The great majority don’t even check the forums anymore. The same thing is happening across all social platforms. The day you can trust platforms is when smart contracts/Dapps will be put in place and companies or gov won’t have control over content and referencing. Not happening anytime soon. That said, the twab was a right step towards more transparent communication. However the conclusions that I drew from it are far from that of the forum: - Destiny 2 and the seasonal format of drip fed content is here to stay for years. No destiny 3 until at least 2021/22, or even 23. May be no destiny 3 at all. - No new class, abilities or the likes. - No new game modes other than “seasonal wanna look like hoard modes” - 1 iron banner set per year - 1 raid per year (In fact most probably a mini one) - No new pvp content - No new planet but semi new map/discoverable area. - No change to strikes. - No change to enemy AI. In fact, it seems like bungie is trying to shift the game towards one of which the end game will be faster to reach/lower barriers to entry. A good thing for new comers, probably a very disappointing format for dedicated players. I will keep looking at what bungie does and delivers since this game will always remain my true love, but I will be waiting some time before deciding if I want to enter the party again, especially now that raids are something to watch rather than to experience. I have to also admit that getting away from this game only brought positive rewards irl, and thanks to what Bungie did this past year I am more eager to play games that deliver a complete experience than a never ending cycle/hamster wheel. Edit: let’s not blame Cozmo or Dmg. At the end of the day, they do their job. We can’t blame the PR from fast-foods to claim that the food is healthy. It’s our responsibility to look at the fat, saturated, and carbs per portion.

So... now we have to go back and run the same activities again for cosmetics? And I thought doing bounties was fun....

That's what happens when you lower people's expectations with screw-up after screw-up. They lowered the bar so much--with a lot of mediocre bullshit--that something like this sounds like a massive improvement.

People complaining about auto rifles is really old. Seriously hand canons have been meta for like 2-3 years pal. You can’t have one class of weapons that’s head and shoulders above the rest. Hand canons also still easily out gun auto rifles. If anyone and I mean anyone moron says different it’s because you are a super bad aim. Hand canons are a precision gun, autos spray. That means the further out you get hand canons still land crit shots and 3 tap at their end range auto will not hit all crit shots so ttk doesn’t matter for autos. Hand canons are still meta. The higher you get in comp the less autos you see because autos still don’t outshine a good player with Lunas, Trust, Ace, Spare Rations etc... As far as this season focused on PvP I don’t see it. There are zero new PvP weapons except for Trials weapons and which is irrelevant for solo players like me. I tried to find a team to play for the first 3 weeks on lfg, the app and my clan and still haven’t played. Couldn’t find one person to give me a chance because I don’t have positive kd. If Bungie wants people to continue buying their half baked games they better make sure everything is available to play for everyone, even single players.

It took everyone leaving the game for Bungie to now offer more rewards. The way it should of been in the first place.

Why is everyone over looking the ridiculous length of time it’s going to take to implement basic stuff? Don’t forget all these half baked products up to this point and absolve them over cosmetics having less of a paywall.

I think it's the case of "Stockholm Syndrome" or similar. You know, the one where the hostage falls in love with their captor. Bungie has literally conditioned people to except mediocrity at best, and then when they do anything, and I mean ANYTHING, whatsoever, that is even slightly above that, it's been heralded as the second coming of Jesus. The cycle continues to happen over and over again, as long as there are people, who accept this as the norm, and not even try to challenge it, whether due to being in denial or by basically being brainwashed by Bungie to think it is actually brilliant.

Bungie: Lets nerf everything, except the broken things, we'll leave that alone. Antaeus Wards? No counter Hard Light on console? Still game breaking The game itself? Lag, cheaters and error codes galore They gotta fix this stuff first before going to the cosmetics.
