•
They’ve just deleted years of progress with one season.
They deleted years of progress in releasing D2. The artifacts on all characters and some largely good balance changes. Then we got two primaries....... no supers and three melee slaps. I fail to understand how they plan everything.

 • They usually do. They can’t come up with new ideas anymore so they just make us start all over.

 • Years of community feedback and all those summits highlighting how important player time investment is and how the longevity of gear really matters. Now, with one move bungie have turned this into a 3 month disposable game.

We’ve had seasonal slots since season of opulence.

 • So if I want to take last seasons armour with this seasons mod or maybe use a future raids mod on this seasons armour I can do that? Never played opulence, I came back for Shadowkeep and until this season I was impressed with armour, albeit half arsed and unfinished.
So if I want to take last seasons armour with this seasons mod or maybe use a future raids mod on this seasons armour I can do that?
Armor that drops in a season, helps with the season. You wouldn’t be able to stacks the mods on the same armor even if the final slot had all seasonal mods, they take the same slot.
Never played opulence, I came back for Shadowkeep and until this season I was impressed with armour, albeit half arsed and unfinished.
Half assed? It’s the best armor system we’ve ever had. You’re complaining about them giving value to new armor.

 • Yes, it’s half arsed, it’s not finished, I can’t use mods on my exotics, my masterworked forsaken gear or anything pre season of the undying looking at it. And now a seasonal mod? This is better? I think not, what would have been better is the seasonal mod slot be universal, problem solved, simple. It’s literally just become a 3 month disposable game, the cost to masterwork gear is astronomical and now, simply not worth doing.
Yes, it’s half arsed, it’s not finished, I can’t use mods on my exotics, my masterworked forsaken gear or anything pre season of the undying looking at it.
You can use mods on forsaken gear. You cannot use mods on armor 1.0 gear. They left armor 1.0 there for players who wanted to keep their old armor. All new armor drops were updated to be armor 1.0, including all raids, destinations, EP, etc.
And now a seasonal mod? This is better? I think not, what would have been better is the seasonal mod slot be universal, problem solved, simple.
The amount of seasonal mods on each season armor wouldn’t fit on one piece. There’s more than 50 mods. It also adds to the value of new armor.
It’s literally just become a 3 month disposable game, the cost to masterwork gear is astronomical and now, simply not worth doing.
Masterworking isn’t that expensive. My armor from last season didn’t magically become worse this season. The seasonal mod slot only helps with seasonal activities and a few other small things.

 • So I can put an unstoppable mod on my forsaken gear? I’m not saying you need to put all the seasonal mods on one piece of armour, I’m saying make the slot universal, so I can put a seasonal mod from this season on last seasons armour. Masterworking isn’t that expensive, well that’s subjective, and from what I see you are a minority.

 •
So I can put an unstoppable mod on my forsaken gear?
Yes, that goes on any weapon with random rolls.
I’m not saying you need to put all the seasonal mods on one piece of armour, I’m saying make the slot universal, so I can put a seasonal mod from this season on last seasons armour.
The slot can’t be universal because of technical limitations. The game cannot load that many mods on one piece. Bungie said this when addressing armor affinity.
Masterworking isn’t that expensive, well that’s subjective, and from what I see you are a minority.
They’ve given ways to earn the materials for upgrading. If you do those activities, it’s cheap.

 • The unstoppable mod-my mistake, I meant new mods on pre 2.0 armour. The slot can’t be universal because of technical limitations? that’s half arsed then isn’t it. They have given us ways to earn the materials, but that doesn’t make it cheap. Look, you can keep making excuses, but in my eyes this is a mistake, I enjoyed armour 2.0 last season, I was willing to set aside the issues I pointed out with pre 2.0 gear, but this seasonal mod slot is a fail in my eyes, I’m really disappointed tbh and looking at these forums right now I’d say a lot of people share the same feeling.
The unstoppable mod-my mistake, I meant new mods on pre 2.0 armour.
Each season has a unique slot. Forsaken has the outlaw slot. Black armory has the forge slot. Opulence has the opulent slot. Undying has the undying a lot and now dawn has the dawn slot. This gives each seasons armor something unique.
The slot can’t be universal because of technical limitations? that’s half arsed then isn’t it.
How does that make it half assed?
They have given us ways to earn the materials, but that doesn’t make it cheap.
When those activities drop as many materials that they do, that makes it pretty cheap.
Mod slots like this have been a thing since season of opulence. They bring value to the new armor in the activities that that armor drops in. It’s the same as having raid armor drop with raid perks. Old armor doesn’t lose value because new sets have a unique mod slot, especially since the old armor also has a unique mod slot.
