  • They do. I dont have a hunter so I don't know how but I know that it's the arc battery mod in the artifact that grants an overshield on all arc ability activations. So the hunter dodges and bam over shield.

  • Dodge is not an elemental ability. If it is now treated as such, than bungie fd up when programming the artifact. And if it’s related to the artifact, all classes get it, not just hunters. So that’s unfair of you to point fingers at hunters for the fault of the artifact.

  • It's a valid point. Let's say as a hunter you are taking fire and nearly dead... You double tap B and you immediately roll out of the way and get full health and an overshield. As a warlock taking fire and nearly dead, you have to hold down B and go through the entire animation of putting a rift down while standing still in the same spot you were getting shot, then you get an overshield and your health generates slowly with the rift. I'm not complaining about hunters. I think every class should have something that separates it from the others and that's what destiny characters are about. Titans are like tanks, shoulder charging everything. Warlocks are like wizards, nova bombing everything. Hunters are like nimble masters of wepaons, going invisible and reloading their weapons immediately while regenerating health. If you're unhappy with the hunter maybe try another class?

  • You are arguing about a fn artifact. That’s it. It has nothing to actually do with the hunter class because all class abilities are universal across all classes, and therefore shouldn’t have an element tied to that ability. If they do, that was a bad programming problem from Bungie, because Dodge, Rift and Baricades should not be elemental. Does the artifact give immediate health regen? Or are you claiming it does? Because the only thing that gives even some health back on a hunter is wormhusk exotic, and that doesn’t give you full health either. Again, the artifact would be the problem in this manner if this is the case. Also the artifact shouldn’t be usable in the crucible period, but that’s another thing Bungie overlooked as usual. I also saw you b**** and moan about invisibility....you know the ability that literally got nerfed into the ground and is borderline useless except in very finite situations. Makes me honestly feel like you are literally just hating on a class just to hate on it, which you yourself admitted to not playing. So are we going to keep blaming hunters for the damn artifact being broken? Or are we going to actually target the real culprit which is Bungie’s shoddy programming of the artifact.

  • The artifact isnt bugged, it's working properly because dodge, barrier and rift are all class abilities. So using a class ability while under an arc subclass is technically an arc ability. The argument is that while titans and warlocks have to wait out an animation for the effect to kick in, hunters ability is movement based, effective in battle, and now provides an over shield and heath regen (if wormhusk is being used, but if you're building around dodge, chances are you have it equipped)

  • I had to test it myself. I see what’s going on with it, you are getting an overshield on gamblers dodge, but it’s just an add on to the combination blows/combat flow/gamblers dodge build (I assume Liars handshake is also used here)that already existed prior. It’s not the artifact per se, but the artifact is giving the overshield for the animation duration. Still honestly feel that grenade and melee charges should be the only things element triggering for the class ability spot or that the artifact is simply disabled in crucible (though not sure it it makes that much of a difference there), but you are correct on that dodge is a class ability. So I was incorrect in my thinking. Testing it myself showed that. Appreciate you following it up and civility explaining it to me.

  • I'm starting to wonder if all these hunters asking for nerfs to locks and Titans even know what a hunter can do with all its perks? I don't even have a hunter character and seems like I know more

  • I know about the combination blow build, but I do mainly run GG as my main hunter class, so I admit I didn’t really read the arc class related abilities on the artifact. I can see where it could be annoying for sure.

  • You know when I first read that artifact perk I thought it was an overshield for everything in your arc subclass. So I thought cool, when I activate stormtrance I'll get an over shield. Stormtrance has to be the most damage draining super in the game. There's no kind of health regen. Turns out it was for the rift. 🤣 So I built an OP warlock using the other artifact mods which basically gives me unlimited void grenades which includes handheld supernova... Which I also see could be super annoying.

  • Lol, I totally thought about that myself since I totally main a voidlock when playing on my warlock. Then I was reminded of the 2500 Iron Burden kills last season, where all I did was Supernova 1 shot everyone, and thought better of it. Threw off my crucible aim for a while, 😂

  • I hate the supernova tree. (Can't call it Novawarp anymore) I use bottom tree void with Nazarics sin. That devour perk is nasty and Nazarics sin grants ability energy on void kills. Pair that with the recluse and I have so much fun. It's totally OP but honestly I think some things are just fun and should be left alone.

    My only problem with bottom Nova is the fact that Nova on that tree just has this issue of not killing players a lot of the time, which sucks. I wish it had that D1 feel to it where it hits, players are just dead. same reason I’m not a fan of roaming Titan Smash in this game as well. 1 and done, and you knew s*** was just done for. Not a fan of Nova Warp either, if I want to be totally honest. Never liked it honestly

  • Yeah if there's a guardian out there that can accurately aim the bottom tree Nova Bomb they're a god. Slowva isn't fun anymore since they nerfed Skull of Dire Ahamkira. I really should make a Hunter and Titan. I've only played as a Lock even in D1. I know some things they can do because they murder me in the crucible with it.

  • Hey hostile forum person, I replied to a post about nerfing warlocks and Titans and you replied saying it wasn't true. Don't get all bent out of shape when I answer you. Bungie didn't mess up the programming. It's working as intended. It works on ALL abilities when running arc. So get as mad as you want that someone is offering a valid opinion of how all 3 classes are equal and nothing should be nerfed. Doesn't make a difference to me.

  • I’m only being hostile to players who constantly blame hunters for every damn thing that happens in this franchise, which is why I came off that way. Not that you were, but it’s hard to take legitimate things seriously when hunters have been constantly s****** on in these forums for everything for the last 5 years That being said, I do apologize. I had to see what was going on on the game myself, and I should not have jumped on you for that. It’s the combination blows build style that is responsible for most of what is going on, and the dodge basically makes you almost constantly have an overshield as long as you have enemies you can melee kill and be close enough to regain your dodge. Again, sorry for being a jerk. You didn’t deserve that.

  • It's all good. These forums are crazy. I just get on here when I'm bored and it's slow at work. Apology accepted and I also apologize if it seemed like I was trying to make Hunter mains look bad. Again, the only reason I commented on this thread was because I believe every class has its own advantage over other classes and I really hate seeing everything get nerfed into oblivion.

  • Okay then outside of the artifact. Hunters go invisible. Warlocks and Titans can't. Besides I don't know why hunters are so hell bent on getting warlocks and Titans nerfed. Anytime I play PVP it's a hunter giving me the biggest problems. I can't remember if I've ever been killed by Supernova and rarely do I get shoulder charged. Hunters have their advantages too. And yes.. dodged is an ability just like a warlock rift.

  • It’s more combination blows than wormhusk. Honestly I think players probably use cross counter from Liars handshake with this combo. Not sure it’s a huge issue outside of PvE, but I definitely could see the annoyance factor.
