Don't blame the players, blame the game and the stupid requirements.
Obviously a test run for the "more grindy hardcore MMO elements" coming to Destiny. As usual, good show Bungie. Ride that Activision scapegoat train as far as possible.

It's hardly a test run for more grindy components, last year the solstice was even grindier and you've probably not played the faction rallies in D2 either - now there's a grind. There's a lot wrong with how they've implemented this years quests but if anything the grind is reducing, not increasing.

Bungie are testing the water ahead of Shadowkeep with the solstice grind. The general feedback across social media is, around half of what's left of the player base feel it's to grindy.

The system is wrong and you want to blame players. Lol. If water pipes aren't going to your house, is it the waters fault? No. It's the installers. If you can't make rules that people want to play by and make up stupid ones instead, they'll find a way to abuse them because Bungie made it NOT FUN. Bungie is obsessed with telling people how to play the game they paid for. Why is that OK with you?

Oh. Tried and true way to abdicate responsibility. “Don’t blame the players, we’re not entertained enough. Blame the people who we think are here to entertain us.” If you don’t like the event, I can’t argue. I get it’s not for everybody. But it’s laughable to try to pawn off “unsportsmanlike” behavior on the dev team. We can go all day about stuff they have done wrong to deserve blame. But this isn’t one of them. Only thing I wish they had done differently is made it so that none of the achievements (orbs, bosses, chests, kills, etc) counted unless the player actually finished whichever activity had earned those achievements.

It’s not charity. You do pay for the game. That’s fine. And I am fully aware players are able to play however they want within the confines built by the game. Nothing I said contradicts that. What I WAS saying, is don’t blame Bungie the COMPLETELY allowed choice to play like an assh0le. You can do it. I’m not even saying you should stop. But f-ing own it - don’t pawn it off like Bungie “makes” you do this or that it’s anything other than YOU deciding to play selfishly. You decide to play like that and that’s a completely valid choice. But pretending you don’t have a choice and are forced to do it is transparent bullish!t. That is what I was speaking to and that’s it.

Oh shit you mean all this time I have not being playing electronic entertainment??? E3 is also misnamed then. Bungie's sole reason to exist is to keep us entertained to make money. So if they make a boring, tedious and unrewarding grindfest then yes, don't blame the players getting around the shitty quest steps, blame the electronic entertainment company that has failed to entertain.

If it’s an unrewarding prize at the end, why do you bother trying to find a work around. It’s only worth finding a work around to get the reward if the reward is not shitty. If you find the reward crappy and still “waste” your time grinding for it, that’s on you.

A simple change to the requirements would have been all that was needed. One example would be that instead of 100 EAZ mini boss kills make it 200 in total, across all 3 players. That way it’s less of a tedious grind and everyone is helping each other complete the step. Personally I think the quest should be account wide rather than character specific.

Or just remove the arbitrary step that makes no sense. I don't need to be in the middle of China, tapping my tummy and spinning around to upgrade my armor. I put materials with the armor and bring it to a suitable crafter. Simon says mechanics are -blam!-ing dumb. Period.
