Sounds like the boring, bland vanilla D2 PvP experience. No game gets remembered for balance, it gets remembered for how it made you feel. The fact that there is an actual skill gap allows you to pull off awesome outplays and feel truly powerful.
The people complaining about this are the people that have no thumbs, no skill and will call everything that kills them OP. Posts like this are a byproduct of Bungie catering to entitled casuals that don’t want to improve or get good at anything, they just want everything to be easy.
The game you describe is called communism simulator.

On the contrary, many highly respected and popular PvP games are quite balanced. Is it what they're known for? Not really, because imbalances are far more noticeable. And "how it makes you feel" is exactly the point of my post. I get the impression some didn't read the whole post, or didn't understand what they read, because I did say how it feels. Mostly terrible, unless you are the target of this particular niche, as I pointed out. Despite your rather aggressive and uncharitable comments about people you have never met and know nothing about (I must have hit a nerve), I did in fact point out that I prefer skill-based games. Giving already-skilled players additional mechanical advantages because they are skilled breaks balance by default. It widens the skill-gap between players UNNATURALLY, and that's the problem.
