If we have no jurisdiction over them, then how can we possibly claim they are subject to our laws? Also, them coming here to live and work, to escape harsh conditions, is tantamount to renouncing their previous citizenship.

No it isn’t. People come here to work all the time and yet they aren’t seeking citizenship. Regardless of who you are you obey the laws in our country. Citizen or not. Jurisdiction is different from saying someone is must obey our laws if they are in our country.
-
People may come to work here all the time, but many have plans to return to their home countries. The ones that come here and stay, obviously have no such plans.
-
Okay, but again they aren’t following our laws, they aren’t officially renouncing their citizenship by applying LEGALLY for citizenship here. They come to take advantage of us.
-
Take advantage, how? The vast majority of Hispanic immigrants that I have seen are very hard working people and do their best to stay out of trouble with the law.
-
Ok, are they legal immigrants? You see numerous illegal immigrants who just take advantage of our welfare system and take jobs from people that are actual citizens. And I’m not specifically talking about Hispanics, this isn’t about race. This is about people in general.

-
Landscaping, construction. It doesn’t matter which ones they take, they’re taking jobs that could go to citizens.
-
I have seen plenty of Americans in those jobs. What makes you think that the immigrants who are working those jobs are illegal?
-
It doesn’t take a genius to know that illegal immigrants work those jobs. There is a landscaping company that does a lot of work in my town and the person who runs it admitted to hiring illegal immigrants. Also, in several restaurants in my town, ICE had to take quite a few into custody.
-
You are merely guessing that they do.
-
No, they’ve admitted to it. And like I said, ICE took multiple people into custody.
-
Admitted to whom? Illegal immigration sucks but our immigration laws actively encourage this kind of behavior. Until they are changed into something far more efficient, this is what we have to deal with. However, unilaterally wiping the citizenship of millions of citizens is wrong and sets a dangerous precedent for this country.

Editado por Liam_the_Censor: 11/6/2018 2:58:27 PMTo the authorities. I’m not arguing for current citizenship to be revoked, but being born in the country won’t grant you citizenship in the future. And no, our laws don’t encourage it, the people make a choice to break our laws, regardless of their reason, it isn’t right.
