I thought you couldn't even get in without the mask, oh well, but the extra damage to challenging enemies feels noticeable.

I believe for the quest it locks it but for the matchmaking it does not :p I've literally been solo melting nightmares before anyone can get a shot at one xD it's freakin' CRAZY
