Uhh... Matchmaking guys? You realize light level doesn't help in Haunted Forest, right?
I've got into Haunted Forests instances full of people who *refuse* to put on a mask, I even had one dude tell me to F*** off and saying I make no sense since his light level was at 597
...yeah... yeah it doesn't work like that...
See, there's a reason why Bungie made it so the mask is needed to enter the matchmaking- You don't need high light, but you do need a mask since that is what it's made for, PLUS: YOU GET A TON OF BONUS DAMAGE AND UPGRADE IT SO IT DOES MORE! And if you decide to wear that new exotic helm you just got? Well, you're CRIPPLING THE FIRETEAM.
So please, if you're one of these people who jumps into Haunted Forest and is bound determined to play it without a mask... just don't. It's sad that with how much playing it takes to reach 597 that people are bound determined they're going to be "mvp" because of it and completely negate the Festivities; I'm looking at a lot of these guys as examples in the community and they are *the worst kind* of role models, do not emulate this behavior especially if you have two dudes who are patiently and persisting in insisting that you put your mask on or leave.
BONUS TIP: You clear adds to reach the boss till you reach 100%, you don't rush through every room Strike-Playlist style.
TL;DR- Understanding trumps Light in the Haunted Forest- for gods sake, keep the mask on, your teammates appreciate it.

1 RespuestaIf this thread is a [b]”Haunted Forest Tip”[/b] thread . . . I found a chest yesterday. In each run, it seems to be in the same spot. If you are lucky enough for the game to generate the same part of the Forest. It was in a “circular” area. I know, there’s a few of those. But it was a circular platform with a small platform off-shooting it. The was a vex statue with is arms up. At the feet was the chest, a vex chest. It gives out 2 souls. Very time I found this room in later runs, the chest was always there. Going to check YouTube and see if people found more.

It doesn’t and never did lock equipment in the Haunted Forest and it’s not even required to wear a mask at all to launch it, I don’t recall ever having seen or heard of such a requirement. So that being said what is your complaint exactly? And what exploit are you talking about?

1 RespuestaIt's a 200 light activity, it is entirely irrelevant if you're 500, 515, 525 or 600. It's just like the Leviathan raid: That's gated at 340 light, so anything past that is also irrelevant. It's the same principle. The only thing that matters is how fast you kill, whether you know which end of the gun the bullet comes out of, and whether you have the mask on while killing nightmares. Now if light worked for players like it does for NPCs, being 400 light above would mean a melee could one-shot a Nightmare, but the game doesn't work that way, sadly.

Upgraded the mask to max, didn’t make a lot of difference except removing part of my play style, put the exotic helmet back on, went back to shredding and contributing more than the others. Js. Let people play how they want and they will usually do pretty well.

6 RespuestasMy buddy and me did a play through with a random who didn't wear a mask. Needless to say we would have gotten to branch 9 if he/she had simply because my buddy and me both had over 160 kills where as the random had 67

the icarus perk is under rated especially when the grounded modifier is on it makes you virtually invincible

What I do is I run past ads until I get to a spot where I have to stop. It makes it so my team can kill stuff and I can.

5 RespuestasThere are some times where I don't wear a mask because the exotic I want to use happens to be a helmet. Like Nazeric's Sin on the Warlock so that way I can keep getting my nova warp to clear enemies faster. It's not about being high light or refusing to use a mask, but if something works and can help carry the team to a more bountiful reward at the end I say go for it.
