I don't have a chaperone for this very reason. I started to cheese it during SRL and realized "what's the point?" If i have to workaround to get this gun then i don't want it. I would feel dirty using it.
Same as the strat of equiping TLW right before a match ends depending on if you are going to win or lose. That's ridiculous.
Give credit for the win, don't deduct for a loss. Give incentive to keep playing. Not a punishment to discourage players.

We don't need participation medal mentality for every part of the game. Why shouldn't there be a few very difficult quests designed for higher-skilled players?
