The exact same reasons why fallout 4 is 30fps on consoles (minus the cooperation)
i'm running a fracking 5+ year old cpu oc'd to 4.5ghz, and struggling to keep fallout 4 modded at 60 all the time, open worlds are "poison" to shitty cpu's. (ps4 & x1 at ~1.8ghz)
Ps4pro & x1x processors are only ~300mhz faster than the originals. There you go, the processing power isn't there, graphical capability is (4k) Edit. One thing though, why it has to be 30/60fps? Compromise 45fps? Even that would be slightly more comfortable than 30fps.
Compromise 45fps? Even that would be slightly more comfortable than 30fps.
You can get a weird frame buffer kind of issue with 45fps unless you are running with an adaptive refresh setup (where the monitor can match odd non-standard drawing rates). At the more common 60/120hz rates, you get odd extra frame stalls here and there that makes things kinda jerky, or you may see weird artifacting too that aren't there with 30 or 60 fps because they line up more evenly.

Okay, there aren't tvs with that technology, why it's either 30/60fps.
actually is, but not mainstream yet... Also consoles don't support it. (Hdmi 2.1, one article said x1x does, but others said it's hdmi 2.0b
• Yeah... the tech has been out there in the computer markets for a while now, but other areas have been slower to adopt. 3DTV and the 120hz sensation kind of eclipsed the free-synch stuff, then 4K took off on top of that. You can find it, but have to dig a bit deeper for it. Always ran to the PC monitor with headphones for the more intense stuff anyway. Condo has small bedrooms. 26" tv to a 23" monitor isn't too much of a shift... plus it's higher contrast, dot pitch, and faster response time makes everything "feel" crisper when it really matters. If it weren't for needing the channel scan on the TV for the local channels (switched from cable to streaming), probly wouldn't even have one TBH. Even the blu-rays looked better on the monitor.

I've totally missed this tech when it came out (upgraded from hd7870 -> rx480 not even an year ago, bf that i used pc only for indie/strategy games)
played on ps4 (also on monitor, just better), until got enough of trying to shoot stuff in doom & fo4 with a controller :)
• ...why the dips from 60 are very noticeable. Started to interest me, looking into this adaptive freesync, g-sync business...
always thirsty to learn tech-stuff
