D2 is a 2 year plan. It's in Bungie's contract with Activision. There is supposed to be big release each year: retail release - major DLC - retail release - major DLC - retail release - major DLC - retail release - major DLC. D2 was delayed a year because Bungie screwed up.

How was that 10 year plan they were talking about suppose to work? Or should I ask, when did the timer start ticking? Destiny 1 or Destiny 2?

The "10 year plan" was just an off-hand statement by someone at Bungie during the run-up to Destiny. The actual contract calls for 8 years of games, starting with Destiny 1 in 2013. Obviously the first two retail releases were delayed. Bungie and Activision would have formally amended the agreement to cover these delays and the inclusion of other Activision studios. The important point for Activision investors is that Destiny is supposed to be an annual franchise, with the odd year releases being major DLC like The Taken King. Call of Duty has been putting out annual releases since CoD:MW in 2007, and 10 years later the CoD train is still running. If Destiny stays profitable enough, it will go on indefinitely.

I suppose your right....if it's a money maker it'll go as long as it needs! Just hope they can work some kinks out as they go instead of business as usual. So far (and I don't want to judge before the game releases) it seems like business as usual.

For Activision, it is always business as usual. I still have hope for Bungie.
