Interestingly enough, Catholics actually believe that the bread and wine transform into Christ's literal flesh & blood after they consume them.

catholics are insane, almost as much as atheists
-
No, not the literal flesh and blood, its symbolic. But thanks for telling me how my religion doesn't work 👍
-
If you are a Catholic, I'm afraid you're misinformed. It's the Catholic teaching that the bread and wine literally becomes Jesus. Source: raised Catholic.

I must be a different variation then. By that I mean my specific church does it different then
-
But the Catholic Church is a worldwide organisation with a single set of teachings applied worldwide 🤔

Editado por Lil Durk: 8/5/2017 12:37:52 AMCatholic literally means "universal." The whole philosophy of the Catholic Church is that it is the same worldwide. So the fact that he is trying say that it "must be a different variation" is hilarious.
-
Yes but there is still variation. For example some churches use "sanctified" bread for communion. Believing that knot saved bread can be distributed, while some places use regular burnt bread. My church must just to it differently. I never really knew it any other way.

Are you Catholic? If you are, you should really do some research.
-
True, that's known as transubstantiation. But Catholics also believe in forced celibacy, which is actually against what the Bible instructs (1 Cor. 7).
-
They believe in a lot of things that are against the bible lol.
-
Really? Way I understand it, they believe in some additional things that the Bible doesn't state (like Mary being a virgin all her life), but that's not the same thing. Priest celibacy wasn't mandated until around 1100, I think, and was more about inheritance matters than the notion that priests had to devote themselves totally to God. But it's the only teaching I know of that actually clashes with the Bible.

Editado por Lil Durk: 8/4/2017 4:36:38 PMNah man...they believe in so many unbiblical things, that they're literally not Christians. They're an entirely separate religion. Many people have the misconception that Catholicism is simply another denomination, like Baptist or Presbyterian. Not at all. Denominations will have slight disputes on smaller matters, like speaking in tongues for example. But Catholicism has foundational corruptions that completely contradict the core of what Christianity is supposed to be. Probably their most egregious beliefs are that Solus Christus (Salvation through Christ alone) and Sola Scriptura (teaching through scripture alone) are insufficient.
