It would be impossible
-
Lol. No it wouldn't.
-
Yep, it would.
-
Maybe for you, but not for anyone with a brain & 2 thumbs.
-
Maybe if you explained why you think it would be easier I might be inclined to agree with you... Lol
-
Based on my personal experience, only one or two people use a sword on seige engine. Everyone else uses ex machina for the first part & then uses their primary for adds without ever using their heavy, with the exception of the occasional player that shoots gjallarhorn at the drop ships. With the D2 loadout, nothing changes except people have 2 versatile weapons to use on adds instead of having a 3rd weapon that doesn't get used. Ironically, I found myself wanting the D2 loadout when I did my wrath runs last week lol
-
I agree with this the new weapons system is better
-
That's because you're smart 😆
-
But with snipers being a "heavy" weapon now, the ammo would be alot more scarce. Can you imagine having to wait 5 minutes to pop a synth every wipe at the siege engine? Having 2 primaries might be a nice/interesting change but it reduces your DPS.
-
I know you randomly picked siege engine but that fight literally throws you a ammo box because it's borderline necessity for it to exist for that fight. I understand what you are saying I just disagree, there are times where you won't have power ammo and you will want it but your energy primary does a good bit of damage as well compared to the Kinectic gun so it can pick up the slack when you don't have power ammo.
-
I didn't randomly select the siege engine, the whole thread is in regards to that particular encounter! In an encounter heavily reliant on your DPS you would be limited... Why is that difficult to fathom?
-
Editado por Neolithix: 7/20/2017 9:26:28 AMWhich part of the fight are you concened about. there's a ammo box for what I'll call Phase I. there is no ammo shortage for this phase running to the drop ship for the parts wouldn't be bad wait for ship to despawn and kill adds with energy weapon. if you are worried about speed. (which hasn't been an issue since the normal raid Hardmode is easier) having the parts and running them back wouldn't be bad I would probably run a Energy weapon that is a Pulse/scout and a Kinectic hand cannon. power ammo would still be a sniper or Linear fusion which would do a fine job. Yes there are adds but with 2 people carrying parts and 4 shooting at a time (the timer isn't an issue with this strat) the walker tank actually doesn't have to be killed all you have to do is shoot one leg off and get the parts up around it so that's a huge damage drop through mecchanies and gets rid of a large dampening in what I'm assuming you would use power ammo for If you want to use a sword we don't know if swords will be locked to the power ammo slot or anything about their damage output atm. I think this fight with current supers would be the real issue without tether that fight is harder. but ammo just isn't the issue the Guy who goes to kill the captain could run shotty for shits and giggles this fight also has a ton of adds that allow for ammo gathering even if it didn't give a box you have the adds while the engine is moving towards you where you can jump off the back and pick it all up after you get on the engine + the adds while moving the parts
-
So you'd have to try different tactics or just accept that it might take a little longer because the DPS is less... Way to disagree to what I'm saying by outlining how I'm right.
-
I give you examples of how to get around your hypothetical issues and I'm wrong? you have more damage potential with the energy secondary than you ever will with a secondary in D1 because of how much reserve ammo it holds. power vs. heavy is VERY comparable it makes me question whether you have played the strike more than once or tested possible options on how to use all 3 guns effectively the Seige Engine fight has been 3 manned easily so I don't really understand why you don't think it's possible with the D2 weapons system and ammo restrictions you can test whether or not the new weapon system would work by running a primary and a sidearm in the secondary and never holding more than 2 Gjally shots (or use a legendary launcher if Gjally is too OP) feel free to test it.
-
Extra reserve ammo does not increase your DPS, you can't compare the energy weapons output to a shotgun or sniper. I don't need to run the numbers by you because it's glaringly obvious that if you use weaker weapons then it'll lower your DPS... Again, why is this difficult for you to understand...
-
the Seige Engine fight is built on small amounts of damage over time killing adds outside of the first 15 seconds I don't understand where you think the ammo issue is 6 people can shoot scouts and beat the first phase so using a Energy primary in D2 would be fully capable Power ammo is an easy button I want to understand but reading all ur comments it just seems you think you can do no damage if you don't have 17 spindle shots and 7 rockets
-
My point is very simple, moving snipers/shotguns to the heavy slot limits your output. No matter how much you say "you can do this to make up for it, or you can do that to make up for it" doesn't change anything... Hence why I keep repeating myself. I'm not going to reply further because I feel as I'm beating my head against a brick wall.
-
I had 17 shots of sniper when fully loaded during the strike. please tell me how this is less than the amount of sniper ammo I can have in D1
-
Oh really... And how often did those purple bricks drop for you?
-
I got 3 during the strike and loaded in with 3 shots. I did the strike one time and 6 bricks dropped I literally left power ammo on the ground. you just have to be smarter with it. you really like having a primary that shoots peas and a secondary that can only hold 5-13 shots (unless it's a fusion) + heavy rather than 2 guns with TONS OF AMMO and a power weapon to do critical damage in times of need?
-
So in the context of the original post... There isn't enough of the purple stuff dropping for the sniper to be used effectively in that section of the raid
-
Editado por Neolithix: 7/20/2017 8:38:36 AMSo you always have max Sniper ammo/ heavy for damage cycles during Golgoroth and Warpriest causing you to never fire a primary at either boss because you were out of better ammo? Power ammo isn't supposed to be unlimited Yes there will be times where you are out of power ammo but I definitely think the ammo drop rate is fine for the activities we are doing. Making an assumption that synthesis come back if you wipe just pop a synth and it's no longer an issue (only time power ammo felt scarce during the strike was after a wipe)
-
My point is that it would limit your output no matter how you look at it.
