I plan on waiting a month or two while monitoring the reviews. I expect that complaints about reskins and lack of content will soon flood the forums. If RoI is more of the same, I'm not going to continue wasting my time with Destiny. I also expect Destiny II to be a fresh start, so not playing RoI won't put me at a disadvantage.

  • Ah but, the majority of people who complained about there being a lack of content with destiny after ttk were the ones that rushed everything and went for the highest end gear on day one and ran the raid the second it was released and then continued to play destiny and only destiny all the time and thus burned out. My advice for preparation for RoI for anyone that's getting it is to basically just do what you want and actually play something else for a while before the launch cuz otherwise you'll likely burn out and get bored. And then of course don't rush any of the content, take your time, explore. You don't have to complete the main story missions the minute it's released...

  • Depends on what you consider "content" in a videogame. If the story, missions and the raid are the sole content, then yeah, Destiny as a whole has very little content. If you consider replaying the same content with new variables introduced like the current modifiers or obtaining new weapons or weapons that were previously introduced with higher light levels or going through quests to complete objectives you've likely have already gone through as new content, then yeah, you can say there's a lot of content in Destiny. I understand the viewpoint of both sides. I personally enjoy the grind, but there are some people that just want to catch up on the story and finish the raid. And after this, there usually isn't anything truly "new" to do until a new update comes along. To these people, playing the same strike but with a different burn modifier just doesn't cut it.

  • That's just not true. TTK(not a full game) replaced vanilla destiny and 2 expansions. We have every right to think they are not putting out content quick enough. Would you like me to do the Google search for you where Activision admitted that the content stream is not adequate.

  • The content stream might not be enough but my statement still stands perfectly strong. The people that complained about a lack of content were the ones that rushed everything from day one. If this was about vanilla destiny then yeah sure, even I sat there after completing the main story and said "is this it?" But ttk brought a lot of stuff and with the April update, even more came, not a lot but still more. Destiny is great but it's not meant to be played all day every day...

  • The content stream isn't good enough but the people that say this are wrong? You're contradicting yourself. The bottom line is that they tried to replace a whole game and 2 expansions with a half a game and an update. The people that complained had good reason to complain. This is new for both Bungie and Activision, they have admitted that the content flow is not adequate. How is this the players fault. And just because there are other games out there does not mean that we shouldn't want more Destiny to play.

  • Replace? The last time I checked all the year one content is still there.

  • There yes, relevant no. I understand your point, but come on, you know what I'm saying. Are you going to say that year 2 offered enough content? I personally would have been thrilled with paying for a good sized expansion a few months ago.

  • How relevant they are depends on the player. Some people like to play old raids just for fun not for what they will be compensated with. Also if your a new player starting from the beginning all the content is relevant to leveling and maybe they find some cool year one gear that they can use till they get to year 2 content.

  • I don't even understand what your argument is. Yes the old raids are there. Great for new players If they can manage to find a team. Do they need those rewards? No, not really. It's very easy to jump right to level 40 and continue from there. You are obviously playing this game differently than the people that ran all the weekly content most weeks and therefore you really can't understand the conversation.

  • You're trying wayyy too hard to try and defend your point. Its a loot based game, if an activity in a loot based game doesnt drop valuable loot it is irrelevant. Yes you could play it for fun, but have you looked for a team for vog lately? They are non existent because everyone wants to rank up not waste time.
