Aside from Dregs Promise, I didn't know sidearms had archetypes. They all seem to handle about the same to me. I just wish we had gotten a year two variant of the Vestian Dynasty.

There are 3 archetypes of sidearms. Non hitscan: Queen's Choice and Vestian Dynasty. Hitscan-High RoF: Ironwreath-D, Conviction II and Jabberhakke-D Hitscan-Lowish RoF: Havoc Pigeon and Crow's Eye. And then there's Dreg's Promise.
-
Crows eye is non-hitscan as well
-
There is another non hitscan
-
Queen's Choice is hitscan, only Dreg's Promise and the OG Vestian Dynasty had/have projectile speed. Queen's Choice is in model and aesthetic behavior (sound/kill effect) essentially the same as Vestian Dynasty but there is no travel time on shots.
-
I'm 95% there is travel time on Queen's Choice but I'm too lazy to look for proof.
-
What does non hitscan mean?
-
-
The projectiles have travel time, like fusion rifles.
-
Bullet travel time
-
So queens choice has no travel time or a loot of it?
-
Not a lot, but it is there, just like a fusion rifle. Hit scan means that if a target is in your sights when you pull the trigger, it's a hit. Non hit scan means that the projectiles fired must travel to there target.
-
Their (probobly the wrong one) magazine determines their impact/RoF arctype
-
Queens choice is pretty much a year 2 Vestian Dynasty.
-
There's the no kick speedy versions, and the heavier more handcannon like sidearms. Both are useless of you ask me. I out-gun everyone foolish enough to pull a sidearm against me in the crucible
-
The perks really do so little aside from battle runner that I never notice a difference. What's the "heavy hitter"? The one from Banner?
-
The one from iron banner is worse all around in stats comparatively. If you want the best from that category of rate of fire, use the New Monarchy one.
-
My Ironwreath shreds mofo's.
-
It doesn't mean it is bad, it is just worse stat wise. It doesn't lead the pack in any category.
-
Stats can lie to us. So many guns that look bad on paper are among my favorites. The Ironwreath just feels so accurate, and it has almost no muzzle flash. It's incredibly easy to stay on target because your sight picture is never obstructed.
-
Oh, I had it, and its great. All sidearms have their own way of feeling that feels good, but I have God rolls on each sidearm and had one on the ironwreath. When I was clearing vault space however, it was the only sidearm to get the boot, because I couldn't justify keeping a weapon that didn't feel as good as its other same ROF counterparts. Seriously, try to get the new monarchy one with a range buff.
-
I have the vendor roll. Rangefinder and spray and play I think. It was dethroned the other day by a Jabberhäkke with sureshot, Hot Swap, QuickDraw, and Crowd Control. I typically rotate between my sidearms depending on my mood. I've had some of my best moments with the Ironwreath though. I've got feeding frenzy and reactive reload on it. When I get RR to proc, it's nearly unstoppable.
-
Try one with reactive reload. It's hard to lose a gunfight with that perk active
-
Three precision shot kill. Best thing ever.
-
I didnt either haha
-
The queens choice is the exact same but can get any perks
