Thorn is complete trash in pve, and always has been. Also, the majority of time played in destiny is in the crucible.

Thorn was great in pve, I have over 14000 kills with it and that's 99% pve kills.
-
I thought it would be great against bosses. nope, was crap
-
Yep, specials and heavy weapons are the best options for bosses.
-
Crucible sucks but it is the only thing that is consistent
-
In your opinion it was shit in PvE. For me, it tore through everything. And the amount of time spent in the Crucible doesn't change the fact that PvE covers the great majority of content available.
-
My bad, i thought you meant end game where light actually matters. You don't really do raids, so i'm sure thorn works ok for strikes and pleb missions.
-
I used thorn like crazy in year one raids. Even before the buff. I'd get top kills pretty consistently too. Maybe you just weren't using it right if you thought it was trash.
-
If you were using thorn over something like vision or fatebringer, you weren't doing as well as you could, period. Not once in my 200+ raids has someone said "hey you should use thorn" or "let me swap my thorn over". It was not good in pve, useable? Sure, but all guns are. Thorn was never a popular pve gun, and it still won't be in y3.
-
Who cares if it was popular? I made it good in PvE. And don't get me wrong, I have way more kills with VoC and Fatebringer. Thorn was the second exotic I got extremely early in the game. And I loved using it.
-
Oh, sure, resort to backhand insults. Yeah. And I was talking about it in Y1 when it was, you know, actually viable? Who in their right mind would use a Y1 gun in a Y2 activity?
-
I was talking about y1, your argument is silly. And i'm even all for thorns return. I have over 2x as many kills with it. Using pve to defend a pvp gun, isn't going to work .
-
Just because it was used in PvP a lot more and some of its lore involves the Crucible, does not mean its PvP gun. It worked JUST as well in PvE, its just not many people used it in PvE because Gally was a thing
