Regarding Year 3 Thorn
You see, there's something you PvP players need to get through your thick skulls. PvP only has TWO options in which light level matters, one of which is weekly, and the other being monthly. In PvE, light level matters in EVERY option, and every option is available ALL the time.
So when Thorn was brought to Y3, how about you PvP players stop being such whiney bitches and think that maybe, just maybe, it wasn't brought forwards to f*ck with your TWO options, but was instead brought forth for, oh I don't know, the majority of the damn game?
Ever since the game launched, almost every single change regarding weapons has been to please PvP players with little to no regard about how it'd affect those that play PvE.
So how about when you get the short end of the stick for the first time in your destiny lives, you stop being so selfish, stop f*cking complaining, deal with the fact that PvE was considered BEFORE your precious PvP, and let us PvE players have it just this once, yeah?

Thorns not the only good weapon in yr 1, last word, red death, mida, invective, icebreaker, vex, but for some reason all anyone wants to do is complain about all because more ppl used it. Well it was good and good players used it so it will obviously seem overpowered.

When it gets released just use the Artifact that reduces its damage overtime

1 RespuestaAgree. If Thorn is so OP, get one and use it. I was a pvp virgin befiore Destiny, I remember the struggle to get Thorn. I lied to it, I killed with it. TLW imo felt much worse back then than Thorn, yet TLW had a year 2 version from day1. Much perferreed Thorn pvp to the current version.

I never had thorn or really played vrucible in y1. With that said, I'm excited for it to return. Even after the nerf.

Yes PVE need some good shit as well, if it destroys you in pvp oh well, for the sake of balance in PVE, who literally gives a rats ass if you guys wanna kill yourselves instead of taking on the darkness. makes me laugh.

21 RespuestasThere's a lot of things that happen to PvE that may not be justified, but that gun was a cancer and needed to be dealt with. It utterly [i]ruined[/i] PvP, and I say that as a mostly PvE player. At it's peak it accounted for something absurd like 30-40% of [b]all[/b] kills in the crucible. Not HC kills, not primary weapon kills, [u]ALL KILLS[/u]. That's a problem.

1 RespuestaI'm actually really excited for Thorn returning, it gives great lore and the gun itself feels truly exotic. I completely agree (as a PvP main) it has to be balanced and right now if you pick up and use it , it's most definitely not overpowered. As for the comment I saw, there is no reason at all to teabag someone that uses it in year 3, just because it was dominant before that doesn't mean it should be already labelled as something that will break the game again.

How I feel about Thorn depends entirely on what gets done to it for RoI. Will I want one? Maybe. Will I use it in PvP? Probably not, since I have a perfectly good Last Word..alas, hip-firing that is no longer as rewarding as it once was. Will I use it for PvE? Possibly, although it depends on what I feel like using at the time.

Its not terrible that thorn is coming back but its probably gonna get buffed because its not exactly good anymore

Quite honestly, I don't care. Unless you want to convince Bungie to make a PvE only Thorn somehow then I will gladly hate the Thorn if it's OP and go for its nerfs. Every weapon in the game is both a PvE and PvP weapon so I'm okay if they're balanced or one is better in one area rather than the other but a gun like Thorn that was good in both is just too much. So hopefully the year 3 Thorn is balanced or I'll be back on these forums in no time.
