No mate, that's idiotic. Why would they sacrifice their own profits for a better experience for consumers? That's just not bungos style anymore. I think the real reason they have done this is down to Microsoft and Sony because they are the only ones who benefit. Bungo actually lose out. There is no 'hardware' issues, it's the same game. Therefore bungo will lose profits because 360 and ps3 players aren't purchasing as much dlc. Only Microsoft and Sony win by increasing console purchases. Maybe bungo got a pay out, and if they did there's no hope for this dlc because they've already profited again, even before the desticles pre order.

  • Wrong. Approximately 10% of Destiny's player base in still on last gen. That 10% does not cover the cost for them to continue making content for last gen. Not to mention the fact that Microsoft has stopped producing the 360 which tells gaming companies that they will not be supporting last gen much longer. Sony will likely follow suit very soon with the PS3. Why should game devs continue to support last gen when the companies making those systems no longer are?

  • Irrelevant. You haven't read my post. First the dlc is already made they aren't making something FOR last gen consoles. Second there are no new mechanics to the game. If last gen has been able to play destiny this far it is certainly able to play the dlc. Catch my drift? There is no REASON from bungos perspective to do this. Only Microsoft and Sony benefit.

You say the "expansion" is already made. Yes, it's already made for 2 consoles. You apparently don't know the difference between an expansion and a dlc either. A dlc adds new content on top of the already existing story. In an expansion they go back and make changes to already existing content as well as adding new content like they did with TTK. It cost a lot more $ than you seem to realize for them to do this for 4 consoles especially when only 10% of the community plays on 2 of them. Smart business decision on Bungie's part.

Bungie had this planned for a while. Don't you think Microsoft told gaming companies ahead of time that they were going to discontinue support for old gen so they could make preparations? I mean, it's been 3 years since the new systems came out. This was inevitable. You obviously have no idea the difference in cost for Bungie to produce content for 4 consoles as opposed to only 2. Try doing a little research before posting half-assed theories on a public forum where ppl are going to rip you theory apart.
